Additionally I have seen three films in which Herzog acted: "Incident at Loch Ness" and "The Grand" which weren't very good and Harmony Korine's "Julien Donkey-Boy" which was marvelous!

His character in "The Grand" seems to be an overthetop version of himself.

So, is "Aguirre" your favorite?

No it was at the beginning but I prefer "Heart of Glass", "Nosferatu" and "Fata Morgana" over it.

Still one of his best though...

this was a great movie
i didnt like and understand the camcorder shots of the reptiles tho, it was strange and just threw the movie off, maybe if the same shots were shot wit the same cam used for the rest of the movie it wouldve flowed more

nic cage was great in it, best work since face off

Somewhere on the "making of" doc, there's a scene where Herzog says something like,"I just wouldn't be able to live with myself if this film didn't include a tribute to the iguana."

is the transfer quality (picture and sound) the excat same as US:?

and it also says closed caption, not available? I hope they meant the cc black bars on the tv, not the subtitles, can anybody confirm this for me? thanks.

I received this from amazon uk a few days ago (upgraded from the u.s. disc) and it did have the sleeve.

Just bought a second hand copy, in mint condition, with lenticular sleeve. Bargain at £6.00. Wanted the UK version because it has 33min of interviews instead of the 8min of stills on the US disc. Also the sleeve is a nice little bonus.

Rewatching this 12 years later is interesting. Cage is still great but it doesn’t fascinate me as much now that I’m older. When I watched it the first time I was immature and thought that lifestyle was exciting and wanted that type of power, now I see how desperate and out of control Cage is.

Hard to say which is better , Lionsgate is a little brighter . Which do you prefer ? Also 5.1 TrueHD vs 5.1 DTS (lionsgate)
