The disc appears to be newly authored as it uses the new Arrow Video logo but not sure if they did anything with the audio pitch as mentioned earlier in the thread

Mine arrived today from Atomic, along with 5 other titles (Texas Chainsaw Massacre from 2003 4K along with TCM the Beginning sequel 4K, along with Poseidon 4k, High Society 4k, and When Evil Lurks 4k.

I'm curious how this stacks up to the criterion 4k which I was pretty impressed by, especially compared to their previous Blu Ray. Has anyone done any initial comparisons, beyond what could be better compression?

It's really just better compression. Same master.

Has the audio pitch issue been fixed in the theatrical cut?

I referred to the Arrow release. I read here that the Criterion is the same.

I wonder if Arrow have left the colors as they were or changed them to conform with the DC. I really hope they didn't since it would change it into something that's not the TC anymore.

Arrow sending these out in bubble mailers FYI. Mine just arrived with a couple dinged corners, nothing major but still kind of annoyed. They're so unpredictable with how they send stuff. My last 3 Arrow orders all came in different kinds of packaging (TGTBATU was a box with padding, Zombie was one of those cardboard mailers and Thief was just tossed in a flimsy bubble mailer).

Haven't had a chance to go through it yet, but according to the booklet, disc 2 with the theatrical cut is the 2014 disc. In case people were wondering.

That's concerning. I've got Poseidon from their US store and Enemy Territory last week and both came in boxes padded with the usual brown paper worm.

Yeah ngl my heart sank when I went to get the mail and was expecting a brown box lol. Thankfully it's fine (and the two slightly dinged corners were on the back of the case, I think it really helped that this thing was only in transit for less than a week).

Oh no, what's gotten into them? This is a nightmare... I'm ordering from Arrow Video precisely to avoid those damn envelopes that protect nothing!

As a side note, a delivery man just called me to give me the order. Since I'm away (at my parents' house until Thursday), I told him to open my mailbox (it's absolutely tiny, not up to standard, so I constantly leave it open) and put the parcel inside. I asked him if it wasn't too big, and he replied, "No, it's an envelope, it fits through without a problem." I thought he was mistaken when he said "envelope," thinking he meant cardboard mailer. Well, apparently, given the feedback here, it's guaranteed that the slipcover and the case will be damaged.

I only have Zavvi as a fallback option, and since it's the same family, they might end up doing the same thing. What a bunch of cheapskates, these companies, trying to cut costs like this. We are collectors, we want items in perfect condition, it's not that hard to understand, damn it!!

I watched some of the DC, theatrical cut, and theatrical cut on Amazon Prime last night. The audio sounded the same on all of them. I didn't detect any pitch issue with the theatrical version on the 2nd disc.

Honestly the damage isn't really that bad, couple nicks. Nothing I would even remotely come close to requesting a replacement for. I was just surprised that they shipped it in a bubble mailer.

I think the fact that these were shipped and delivered very quickly saved them from getting badly damaged. Less time in transit, less change of damage.

Hope yours arrived unscathed.

Finally got a shipping email from The Movie Room early this morning!

Pre-ordering from these non-Amazon shops has really grown on me.

It used to feel weird & unnecessary to spend a big chunk of money but then have nothing to show for it for weeks/months, with one pre-ordered title delaying all the others...

But it is a nice feeling when they finally arrive with slip-covers, bubble-wrapped in a box, and the cost already taken care of.

ARROW 4k seems a bit darker than I have ever seen this movie.

My set arrived today. Not an expert on pitch, but PAL speedup annoys the living **** out of me. I've had to have watched and rewatched the opening safe cracking scene like 30 times over the years, and in watching the beginning of the TC, nothing sounded "off" to me. Again, not an expert, YMMV... but if the pitch is somehow off, it's far less off than usual.

Also, a region A Panasonic player was able to easily override the TC disc's region coding with the Top Menu button.
