The Criterion 4K is great but so is the film. I'll be more than happy to have two UHDs of it.

Arrow included both cuts on the Blu-ray, so I'll get this over the Criterion.

Hmmmm, might upgrade. I did notice a couple rough spots on the Criterion compression wise with heavy rain, and I hate the cover art.

I'm glad this is happening sooner than later as I otherwise might have been tempted to buy the Criterion at the next Barnes and Nobles 50% off sale. But I can wait it out.

I hope they remaster the other cut instead of throwing some video-y looking one on there again.

The Criterion was tempting. So glad I don't need to double dip on this or Die in LA.

I hope they actually bother including and remastering the theatrical cut again. Truly it's only one shot that would have to be re-transferred, otherwise Criterion's director's cut master is identical to the theatrical cut.

Nice that we will be able to tell which disc is which at least.

The Blu limited, the discs were unmarked so I had no idea what I was popping into the player until I got to the menu

Very likely the exact same disc (complete with botched PAL slowdown and all). Mann probably would have to "approve" a master of the theatrical cut using the newer scan.

Since the UHD is approved by Mann does that mean it's the same as Criterion, just with a better encode?

Is this what some people call the MGM colors?

The TC in the old Arrow BD box, has the same colors as the older DVD, and those are the correct colors for the TC. If Mann ends up changing the colors for the TC, it's not really the true TC anymore.
