I am interested in this also. My experience is that Netflix video quality is dependent to some extent on playback hardware. I have gotten good results with the Roku player, but poor performance on macs and PCs. I am really interested in the new Sony, but apparently Netflix playback hasn't been enabled on that machine yet.

I have the NS-BRDVD3, non wireless. The firmware update is indeed out for this now. I have mine connected for Netflix streaming. I was using my Xbox360 for Netflix before, but this player was on sale a few weeks ago at Bestbuy for 149.99, so I picked it up. It is nice to have the streaming on this and take the load of my Xbox.
As for quality, pretty much the picture quality of the Netflix streaming is exactly the same as when I use my Xbox360. I have not noticed any difference between the two. Most of the movies available for instant viewing are older movies, with some new ones mixed in, and TV series. That doesn't bother me though, as I watch a lot of the older movies anyway, and just get the new ones shipped to me on disc. As for the NS-BRDVD3, it is my 1st Blu-Ray player, so I am not able to compare it to any other models. It works just great for me though and I am happy with it. |

So I just got the wireless version of this player. Everything works great except I cant get it to connect to my wireless network. It detects it, but it fails everytime to connect to it.
Anyone else having this problem?? |

It will play xvid and wmv, but not divx.
It's an excellent player for the money. I got the wired version back when it was $99. It will be $99 again on BF. But $129 is excellent for the wireless version. It does much more than the specs say, like play videos from USB hard drives. Startup and load times are very fast. Poor remote response is the only drawback. You have to aim well and be within 10 ft or so. A powerful universal remote works a little better. |

Yep I bought this machine for my father two weeks ago when I had a $50 coupon from Netflix. For only $150 I feel like this player was a STEAL! Built in Wi-Fi, Netflix streaming, and all the other basics you expect from a blu-ray player. I had always believed my PS3 was the best blu-ray player out there, but I would have no trouble replacing one of my Playstations with this player. Great load times, great picture quality, GREAT blu-ray player. I would suggest this player to anyone at the regular price of $200, so with Best Buy selling it at $129 this week I see no reason for anyone considering it not to buy it! A+++

I did NOT have this problem when I set it up for my father. However, I do remember reading that some people were having this issue. I think it might have been at bestbuy.com under the player reviews. If not there, try Amazon. But I also remember one reviewer posted a solution to the problem. Good luck!

When I first got this I was happy with it, now not so much. The player has been having problems where it will drop sound when I turn it on and try to watch anything with it. You have to hit the buttons and aim it just right at the player to get it to respond. And I was having problems over the weekend getting Netflix to pause and then resume. Might be just this player though. I am going to take it back and exchange it. not looking forward to it though. If this doesn't get solved I will return it and just get another PS3.

Has anybody who has the NS-WBRDVD tried to play Iron MAN?
I replaced my POS samsung 1200 with this, and a couple months later tried playing IRON MAN, to find out it sits at Chapter 3, then nothing. The extras disc plays with no problem. Otherwise, I have had no real issues with this, as I got it about 4 months ago for 99 bucks. Netflix is ok, but my ISP isn't, so that makes streaming hit or miss. Thanks guys... ![]() |
