Panny in the house! Had one on order at my local Magnolia, due for arrival this Saturday. But since I have to work all day Saturday and I have today off, I had the idea of calling around and seeing if any other Magnolias had one. Sure enough, I found one about 70 miles away, so I snagged it and canceled my preorder. Unfortunately, my wife has taken over control of the TV so I have to wait until later to play!!!

I really want to hear if it is better than the Samsung for image quality.

The other aspect of the Samsung that I dislike is the lack of DVD-R capability. Perhaps you can report on that for the Panasonic.

I played a DVD-R of the "South Park" movie on my Samsung just now, and it played without a hitch.

Are the Samsung's not supposed to play DVD-R's?

It says not for HD DVD, DVD+R/+RW on the top of the player.

I guess I didn't notice that it only mentions '+R' so maybe DVD-R is ok...?
