![]() That will be kind of difficult. You want alot for not very much. I didn't look that hard, but here goes nothing: Panny surround system with Blu-ray player - $549 HERE Insignia 42" 720p LCD - $549 HERE I know this is just best buy and if you look around through Amazon, Newegg, Ebay, etc... you will be able to find deals, but this is mainly the caliber equipment you will be looking through with your budget constraint. With respect, I'd recommend saving and buying a piece at a time... rinse, repeat. It may take much longer to get everything set up but you will have a much more satisfying end result. Especially if you have the luxory of a dedicated room to put it all in. ![]() ![]() Good luck! |

I gotta agree with dase... a G note doesnt get you that far. If you can up that to maybe
$1500 to $1750 a lot more options would be available to you. But for $1000, I'd look into the used market for a receiver/speaker system and the rest i'd put down on a new screen. Decide what kind of gear you want (speaker and reveiver make) and from there, check online sites like craigslist, kijiji and other for deals. For example, I just picked up another near mint Monster HDP-2400 Power conditioner for the bedroom tonight for $85 the thing new is $400! Deals are out there... just gotta look! sorry about that, I will do the setup one piece at a time . The TV will definitley be first. and then the speakers.
This is what I asked for for Christmas. If you can find better TV and Speaker for around the same price. please tell me. The tv I asked for is a 40" class 1080p 120Hz LCD HDTV, Samsung ps all of this is for video games and movies so I am trying to hear what is the best for this price range once you add both up. and the speakers are the samsung 5.1 channel 1000watt single disc DVD home theater. All together that is about 1400 dollars is there better for that price. |

Panasonic TC-42X1 - $600-$650
Denon 590/Onkyo 507 - $300-$350 Polk Monitor LCR speakers - $200-$250 You're going to have to extend your budget by about $500 to get a good sound system. Don't buy a HTiB. If you have to, slowly build a sound system and save up for the good stuff. ![]() |

Yeah a grand will get you the TV, the blu-ray player, and maybe a bit left over. But if you want good surround sound, you are going to have to bump that up to at least $1,500.
I got my Vizio 42" 1080p back in February for $700 refurbed and still works perfectly. So you can find good deals on TV's, but don't go for a budget player with no features and definitely don't get bad surround sound. If you don't have enough, just wait. Will pay off huge in the end. |

Panasonic Plasma's have been running a deal where you get a free Panny bluray player with purchase. I believe it ends 9/9/09? edit: through november.
Free Blu-ray Player with Panasonic 46-Inch 1080p Plasma HDTV Id definitely go for this: Panasonic VIERA G10 Series TC-P46G10 Last edited by crackinhedz; 09-06-2009 at 02:51 AM. |
