Why does it take so long for Blu-ray movies to come out. And why are movie like BATMAN BEGINS not being released on blu-ray while its already out on hd-dvd.
i still cant decide wich format to buy but i do want to get one soon like around january or febuary. The reason is because i just dont think the studios are gona stay exclusive to either formats and if they dont HD-DVD will most likely win. another reason why i think blu-ray might win is because of the ps3. i never even heard of a dvd player until i got my ps2 back in the year 2000 when i was like 12 or 13 years old. but when i got it i started buying dvd's like crazy and since then i have over 200 in my collection. i have the xbox360 but i wouldnt buy the add on piece because i read that if they start enconding movies or something like that it wont even work. |

Wow you have an Xbox 360.
Case closed. Buy the HD DVD add on and you'll get King Kong and the remote control that works for other features. Then check out the PS3 for Blu-Ray support. Make sure your next AV Receiver has two HDMI inputs and you are now officially "Format Battle Free" (FBF) People will say "the add on doesn't have HDMI" but who gives a rip? Component inputs will give you the same quality. Final cash outlay for dual platform support $700 minimum (assuming you can get a PS3 for $499 without jumping through any special hoops) |

They won't give you the same quality. Component is analog (starts to fade as soon as it hits the cable--not to mention you lose some signal in the digital to analog conversion). HDMI is digital (only 0 or 1 to deal with). HDMI equals no loss in picture unless implemented incorrectly by the manufacturer.
