Default Anybody importing UK version of OUTLANDER and MOON?

ANybody can confirm OUTLANDER is region locked for UK?
And MOON is supposed to be region free (that can be played on Region A blu ray players)?
THanks.

Have you seen Outlander?
I recommend you to rent it first (if you can), I was very dissapointed with it.

Ok, thanks. Outlander from Alliance is cropped picture wise. I hear some good things about Outlander, but Iill try to screen a rental first.
I hear MOON is intriguing, but only available in UK (which I assume cannot be played on region A machines).

Hello there, thanks for the info. Really, new version from Alliance is new widescreen format? Wow. Okay, will check it out. I hope the extras are there too.

Moon is Sony, so it should be region free.....

But isn't it not out until November?

Yup, the Canadian (RegionA) Outlander is now 2.35:1 & includes an additional 16-minute featurette! I have a couple available...

Well, this gives me some hope.

Already pre-ordered from the UK Amazon earlier this week.

Though, I have to say I prefer the U.S. box art much more.

Rhylliam: thanks for offer, but I had someone to get it for me (I am outside the U.S. now) as Amazon ca said their version is still the "discontinued 1:78 to 1" version. Can believe Amazon.ca is selling discontinued items..

MOON looks very very intriguing, and is getting a lot of positive reviews in Asia and Australia(?) and beyond (South America). Good to hear UK version is possibly region free.

From imdb (I didn't actually read it. I find movies much more stimulating when I only know the slightest bits regarding their plots)

Quote:
Sam Bell has a three year contract to work for Lunar Industries. For the contract's entire duration, he is the sole employee based at their lunar station. His primary job responsibility is to harvest and periodically rocket back to Earth supplies of helium-3, the current clean and abundant fuel used on Earth. There is no direct communication link available between the lunar station and Earth, so his only direct real-time interaction is with GERTY, the intelligent computer whose function is to attend to his day to day needs. With such little human contact and all of it indirect, he feels that three years is far too long to be so isolated; he knows he is beginning to hallucinate as the end of his three years approaches. All he wants is to return to Earth to be with his wife Tess and their infant daughter Eve, who was born just prior to his leaving for this job. With two weeks to go, he gets into an accident at one of the mechanical harvesters and is rendered unconscious. Injured, he awakens back at the station in the infirmary, he assumes assisted by GERTY. GERTY tells him that a rescue team named Eliza will come to the station to clean up the aftermath of the accident. After his recuperation, he takes an unauthorized trip back to the broken harvester, where he makes an unexpected discovery. Because of his find, he begins to doubt his sanity, then his true identity, then the company and GERTY's willingness to do what is best for him. Because of his resulting beliefs, his sole mission becomes how to get back to Earth on his own.

I was just wondering if Uk version of Outlander is region free, I know Canada has this movie but it's cheaper to buy it from AmazonUk, than AmazonCa right now.

The UK release of Outlander is Region B locked.

The UK Moon is region-free. The disc is probably the same as the US release. Right now, the UK disc costs much less than the pre-order price of the US release. Good PQ & AQ and a good film. I used Amazon UK for this and several other titles, so the freight cost was reasonable. Delivered in my mailbox for total cost under $20. There have been some great prices on Amazon UK lately on titles not in the US or titles that have later US release dates.
