Synopsis :
"Detroit Metal City", a manga written by Kiminori Wakasugi, has been drawing a great deal of attention among the young generation. The story is about a pure-hearted 23-year-old boy who happens to be a member of a Death Metal Band "Detroit Metal City" (DMC) and turns out to be its charismatic vocalist under the fictitious name of "Johannes Krauser II". The story hillariously describes the array of his woes until he finally faces off against the legendary and world-renowned Death Metal vocallist "Jack IL.Dark" on the stage.

With coming from Panasia Films, I'm a bit worried about the subtitles after what they did with their 20th Century Boys BD release. Does anyone know if they did the same with 20th Century Boys Chapter 2?

Yes, Chapter 2 was the same as the first.

I did not care for the Detroit Metal City Anime, so I will pass on this one...

20th Century Boys Chapter 1 & 2 both have English subtitles with forced Chinese subtitles. Its not as bad as it sounds and IMO you get used to it fast.

I thought this movie was really average. It wasn't that funny and the way Kenichi Matsuyama plays both his parts is way too over the top even for a Japanese comedy. It just took me out of the movie.

i'd recommend it if you've seen the trailer and are willing to blind buy. never repurchase, myself. i suspect more would enjoy this than might do if people continue to wait for other's recommendations rather than picking what takes their fancy. like the unexpected moments, such as the ability to cope with obscene behaviour because it's part of something defined as entertainment - the mention of his bowl haircut making him (literally) look like a giant penis was memorable.

This movie is hysterical. I can't believe they dragged Gene Simmons out for this too. Has anyone bought the Bluray and can detail the quality of the subtitles?
