View Poll Results: How many SBs per a movie do you buy?
I don't buy SB because of the case, just because it's/was available this way only (like "Leon") 2 5.88%
1 SB per movie (IMO the one with the best cover art) 19 55.88%
All SBs with unique cover art per movie (like "Hellboy 2", "Body of Lies", "10,000 B.C.", etc.) 9 26.47%
All SBs with little differences between cover arts per movie (like French/German/Polish "Gladiator") 2 5.88%
All of them! Every single one released! 2 5.88%

Default What type of Steelbook collector are you?

Hi, I was wondering what type of SB collectors we have here (apart from collecting sealed/unsealed items ).

Initially I wanted to collect 1 SB per movie, but I can see how that's changing into each unique SB per movie Addiction is developing :P

For me, first, i must like the movies.

Second, i must like the SB cover.

The above ruled me out to be a OCD

My regret? The James Bond series ... imo the covers suck, saved me some $ for not collecting them.

Cheers,

I'm the passive type. If I wouldn't buy the movie on standard Blu-Ray case, why would I buy it on steelbook?

I just started.

I bought the Snow White SB from BB yesterday but had to pay retail because I did not buy or pre order the movie a few weeks ago. Back then.. I didn't care about SB.

My next one is "Up".

BTW, does Band of Brothers count as a SB????

Nope, SteelBook is a brand. Check the sticky on this forum and it shows example of what is and isnt a SteelBook.

I couldn't vote since the type of collector I am isn't in there. I will only buy Steelbooks if I like the cover and movie and no foreign titles on the cover. Also no Rating logos that are as big as the MM ones.

If I like the movie and really like the case I may by a duplicate. For the Futureshop releases I usually try to pickup a few extras.

Where's the "I go out of my way to avoid them" option.

I buy one steelbook per movie that I like. If I can't play them because its incompatible with my region, I make a hybrid.

I' m just getting into SB but will only get one that is available for a movie that I would buy anyways on Blu. With all the new releases and Disney steels from FS that should help go up fast. But I don't consider myself a collector at all.

I prefer steelbooks to regular cases and will seek them out if available. If a movie is offered in steelbook and I'm on the fence about buying the movie, that will usually push me into buying it.

There is no option for: "only the movies I like"
For example, I could not care less about Up so I won't be buying that.

Yeah, there are many options not included in the poll, however if I did include all of them the poll might get too complexed (for example - if from all the movies released in SBs you'd like only The Dark Knight, and therefore would buy all 5 releases, you'd need different option, if you bought only one TDK SB. So basicly you'll just have to choose the one that suits you more, than less

I'm a casual selective collector, I sleep well over ANY purchases. I only buy the movies I love but the problem is that I like them all!

Cheers,
Gui.
