I'd love to know if anyone else is having issues with thier copy of Drag Me To Hell. I have a Philips BDP7200/f7 blu-ray player. I have done the most recent firmware upgrade. I have 247 blu-rays and they all play but I cannot get DMTH past the main menu screen. I have exchanged it for a new copy and it does the same exact thing. The funny part is if I go to the chapters it takes me back to the video behing the menu screen (menu screen minus the selections). I hate that I can't play this movie cause I loved it and I really don't want to have to buy the DVD. Plus it would suck if this becomes an issue with Universal blu-rays for me. Anyway I'd love some feedback on this. Please help.

No problems for me either. Got to be a player issue rather than a disc problem. First I have heard of a problem with this title.

Well, it seems as if it's a player issue. I can't get the darn thing to play no matter what I do. I scored a copy on DVD for now and I'm gonna have to wait and see if the firmware updates fix the issue. I'd love to know if anyone with the same player has this issue. My player is a Philips BDP7200/F7. Thanks again for helping me sort this out.

i think you are having a BD-Live issue. try turning off bd-live in your player menu and then put the disc in and try that. this is especially true for those who have a bd-live 2.0 machine but dont' actually have either 1gb onboard memory (those who need to use a thumb drive or SD card) or your not physically connected to the internet. the disc will keep trying to connect because your menu says it's 2.0 and bd-live is enabled so the disc doesn't know your not physically connected. i have found that to be true in most of these case.
of course, make sure you all have the latest firmware too. we oppo folks had the same issue with the wolverine movie and a firmware corrected it. so for about two weeks after is release, we had to disable bd-live and the disc would then ignore it and go to the main menu instead of trying to load live information. best of luck. |

I wish I could control that but my player is 1.1 a bonusview player. I don't even have th ability to use blu-ray live. I do however feel that the problem lies exactly with what you said. I think the BD-Live content is causing an issue with the disc playing on my system. As far as I know there is no other setting in my system to disable it considering I don't even have it. I just find it weird that I have played, no lie, 247 blu-ray discs and had no problem except for this disc. Odd and annoying.

I too am having issues with DMTH. The menu works but, when I try to play the movie it just threads back to the menu. I have a Panasonic DMP-BD10A. I could not get the firmware update (2.5) to take so, I called Panasonic to see if they could send me a disk. I also could not get the Wizard of Oz to play and mentioned this to Panasonic. Panasonic is aware of issues on both discs and their only response to to burn the disc to my CPU and move it to standard DVD. I am assuming this is against the law and mentioned this. They acknowledged that is against the law but indicated this was the only way I could watch the movie. They indicated that the latedst firmware (2.5) would not work. Has anybody experienced this issue with Panasonic? I am amazed that they are doing nothing to address the issue but even more amazed that they recommended that I break copyright laws.

I just posted to the Phillips 7200 thread and then I thought I'd check this forum - which just gave me my answer. I updated to the latest Phillips 2700 firmware (version 1.113) but this movie still won't play.
![]() Sorry KrugStillo, looks like we are out of luck for now. Maybe a future firmware update will handle it. |

I have a Samsung and I can't play DMTH either. Before my latest update it would be stuck on the menu. After the update it is stuck on the load. Really sucks. Don't want to by a standard DVD or a new player.
