India/Bollywood BLUE blu-ray?

4 days, just 4 days after the thearetical release Blue has apparently been confirmed for a sequel which is right about to go on the floors. With that news just 4 days later, have there been any blu-ray rumblings yet? lol

lol I'll admit it wasn't as good as Dhoom or Dhoom 2, with a very predictable story, but it's still better than a lot of the movies coming out of Bollywood (e.g.: comedies). Still better than Acid Factory too.

Sounds like a Hodgepodge of Fast and Furious and Into the Blue.

These Bollywood producers and directors should be ashamed of blatantly plagiarizing movies without giving any credits.

That's one of the things i really hate about some Bollywood movies. Sometimes they don't even say it's a copy of a film. I don't remember the people behind Acid Factory outright say it was a copy of Unknown. But for Blue, they said they were inspired from other films. I don't think it has elements from The Fast and the Furious, but i have heard it resembles Into the Blue quite a bit.

Why spend hard earned money on plagiarized flicks is beyond me. 99% of these Bollywood movies are MINDLESS and lifted style over substance.

I hope movies like Page 3, Wednesday, Lagaan and Swades sees a Blu-ray release.

Sadly Bollywood and most other mainstream film industries in India are ruled by these film-making "families" who wouldn't know it even if you were to hit them on the head with anything creative and original!!
And since they don't trust themselves with creating anything new, they rely on lifting ideas from successful western films no matter how ridiculous its adaptation to an Indian setting would seem!

But the audience does not seem to mind it... how else do you explain Rajnikant films and it's appeal We seem to accept any insult to our collective intelligence, all in the name of escapism!

Why bring Rajni into this ? If you do not like him then do not see his movies. No one asked you to !

PS: Many may find Jeff Bridges in TBL to be incredibly annoying yet you have his pic as your avatar. Bottomline is -- >> Opinions differ !

I watched "Naksha" with Sunny Deol.... BIG mistake haha. The Rundown was much better.

I don't. For reasons mentioned above I was using Rajni as an example of everything wrong with mainstream Indian cinema. He is not the only one but definitely a poster child for idiotic cinema!!

As a South Indian, I grew up watching some of his earlier stuff and I think he is a fine actor. I just hate the kind of drivel that we find him in now!

My experience watching the Premier of Sivaji when I was in India was quite an experience that I can never forget. There are not many movies, no matter what language they are in are worth this praise. Yes, it is a typical commercial crap or whatever, but ultimately my money was made worth because of the electric atmospere I was in, watching the movie. So, a movie going experience not just depends on the actual movie but with the kind of crowd and the atmosphere we are in. I sure was not sitting in my seat for atleast half the movie

Thats how Rajni's movies are ! They are bigger than life ! If you like it, you will enjoy every bit of the experience. If you try to critic it then its not your cup of cake.

PS: Though I have around 1500 movies on DVDs and Blus together, Sivaji blu is one the most frequently watched ones in my HT. Couple of drinks with a group of friends + Sivaji/Rajni in general. Totally rocks

Blue wasn't the best action film out there, but for Bollywood standards, it surely is a must watch at least. I wouldn't mind getting it.

When Keanu Reeves can dodge bullets in Matrix why not Rajini / Captain?

Indian movie industry first needs to stop shamelessly and openly copying foreign movies.

The DVD is supposedly coming out in 2 days: http://www.indiaweekly.com/datacart/...roductId=11727

I know it wasn't the greatest movie, but i still want it lol. But i would rather get it on blu-ray, though it's tempting i could get it so soon. So i want to know if there have been any discussions about a blu-ray release as this was the highest budget Bollywood film and completely destroyed the box office.

Though i realize it will take a while, as the blu-ray versions of Ghajini, Kaminey, etc haven't been released yet.

I'm REALLY tempted to get Blue on DVD. It's ONLY $12.99 US not including shipping and handling!

It would look great on blu-ray, but the movie itself wasn't the greatest. I'm definetly going to re-buy Dhoom 2 since i love it. Maybe i'd re-buy it eventually?

Lol, I hate when you have Bollywood movies that have EXTREMELY gorgeous settings, colors, and art throughout, and then the storyline turns out to be horrendous. It happens time and time again. ~__~ Best example I can think of was 2008's Yuvvraaj, where the trailers and the music made the movie seem grande, and then when I saw it... I cried out of boredom, confusion, and other pathetic things.

No doubt about it that Blue would look great on Blu-Ray though.
