Default Require New Users To Enter Location

I was hoping that Blu-Ray can require all new users and if possible (current) users to make known their general location. IE, state, country, or whatever.

Reason I ask is there are quite a few posts (a lot actually) that sometimes don't make sense or just seem off the wall. Unfortunately one can not look to see where the poster is from because most times it does not show their location.

This would help determine if the post is valid or if some nut job is acting up. Does any of that make sense?

Thanks!

Umm so you're gonna make a judgment on the validity of a person's post based on where he is? But what if he's from France?! Why don't we have people declare their race too, or gender. better yet, their religion!

I am joking. But seriously, I don't understand your point.

I see where you're coming from. Sometimes people post from somewhere in the UK, or AU, or wherever, and without the location, they would have to tell you where they're from for it to make sense. For instance, many people have had the Spiderman trilogy for awhile . . . the natural question usually is, "Where did you get it?" With the location, that would be (fairly) obvious.

it makes sense. just a city is not a big deal, we are not asking for you zip code, cell number or social security either.
so many posts of late say my local best buy has this in stock early or something like that and do not inform us which place.

If that bothers you so much, you have issues. Deal with it.

Correct. Just a city or something would help a lot. It's nothing personal, it would just help with the posting just that much more

I agree. It's not like we are tracking people or something. It just make things easier when posts like 'My local Best Buy is great!' comments easier to understand instead of 5 comments of 'where you at?' Maybe not a requirement, but would highly recommend it.

One of many examples..

Bottom of post states his best buy put them out earlier. Would be nice to know what area he is in.

I'll put my city name in just as soon as I finish making my aluminum foil hat.
Seriously, as soon as I go in and put a profile in, I'll add my city info.
