Question Upgrading Hardrive to WD Raptor?

Would it be possible to put a 10,000RPM Hardrive in my ps3? Would it have faster load/processing times? Let me know, thanks.

I don't think that'll work, isn't that a Desktop HD? unfortunately it's too big, and I'm sure it'd produce too much heat for the PS3, sorry.

Heat, power, and physical size are all against you on this one. But otherwise, sata is sata, and there is no difference in the interfaces between 3.5" & 2.5" sata drives.

Yeah too much heat, but if your looking for more storage the WD Scorpio 250gb is excellent.

The drive needs to be a 2.5" laptop SATA drive. 10K drives don't exist for laptops!

I doubt you will see the difference between 5400 and 7200rpm anyways. I'd stick with the same spec as the PS3 comes with which is 5400. The above choice is a good one though.

If you still want to use the WD Raptor, you need to plug it in using an external SATA. It can be done but not in a conventional upgrade way.

I really wouldnt suggest you put that in. You dont want to risk having problems further down the line. I would just stick to using the same speed as the drive that the system came with
