Default How cheap do BDs get on Black Friday?

I was just curious... I'm saving my money to anticipate BF. DVDs get pretty cheap around that time, i wonder if BDs get the same deals...

I remember Best Buy had the first Transformers on blu for $10 last year, as well as a few others. Other than that I couldn't say, as I didn't have a player last year and didn't really pay attention. I'm betting there will be some killer deals this year, which is why I'm not spending any money on movies or video games until the end of the month, which is probably gonna kill me, but it'll be worth it.

Think $9 titles were about as low as they got last year in physical stores (minus Echo Bridge type releases). The James Bond deals on Amazon averaged to about $7-$8 if memory serves.

I think it's too early to tell. This year has seen blu-ray prices drop dramatically. I don't think last year's black friday blu sales will be a good/bad indication of what we'll see this year.

Considering the sales that have benn going on over the past few weeks, I'm not expecting too much on Black Friday.

We'll see under-$10 titles, sure, but we're already seeing that now for everyday pricing on some discs (mostly WB and Lionsgate).

I don't anticipate Black Friday is going to be as dramatic as some might hope.

Totally agree...its going to be hard for prices to get better on Black Friday unless Amazon have those sporadic sales where they lower the prices for certain titles for a hr or so.

last yr the best deal I got was from Amazon ...Die Hard for about $7.00..

So far all of the ads I have seen are pathetic at best.

Like everyone is saying, I don't think last year's prices are a good indicator of this year's sales. I do remember getting the Bonds for around $7, Die Hard for around $6, and a number of movies less than $15 (good price at the time). I got at least 20 movies in that week that surrounded Black Friday. That being said, it is probably going to be quite a bit different this year.

The Bond deal was AMAZING, looking back. I just pulled up my order from last year and I paid $47.44 for the 6 movies that make up volumes 1 and 2.

Also, Transformers for $9.99 was nice.

The K-mart ad for $8.99 blu's isn't too bad. I'll at least check that out. I think this Black Friday/Cyber Monday will be incredible. Amazon better step up. No tax and free shipping will be great.

Media for the most part doesn't get heavily discounted during Black Friday. Players and other electronics will recieve much steeper discounts than the handful of discs they have on sale in limited qunatitites.

Last year I picked up Transformers, Iron Man, and Kung Fu Panda at my walmart all for $10 each. This year I hope they'll have better deals on newer release since some catalog titles are already at the $10 price point.

+1...it will be very hard to get them down any lower. The new releases are all about the 18-$20 mark..It's amazing..I am curious about what will go on sale. I wouldn't be surprised if we see some $7 titles but we've seen them before from J&R sales. It is going to be an interesting BF.

The deals on new releases right now are so good that it feels like BF already!
