Anybody pick up Evil Dead 2 today? - Blu-ray Forum

I was hoping for a review of some sort. I remember watching this movie when I was like 10 years old and loved it!

I am leaving work and going to go get Evil Dead 2 Dawn and Day of the Dead. I had a friend who I told Evil Dead 2 was coming out on blu and he followed with "Evil Dead 2, you mean Army of Darkness?" I almost slapped him.

I still love it, I have the deluxe edition in SD. Hard for me to buy the BD version because my deluxe edition is shaped like the "book of the dead"

I am still interested in hearing about any picture or sounds improvements though, a re-buy is not out of the question!

Haha.. yeah mine special edition of Evil Dead 2 is in a tin container. But I am totally buying BD if it gets good video review. Give me an excuse to find someone who hasnt seen it and drag them to my house.

I picked up both of these on BD. I have to hand it to Anchor Bay...they really did a great job on all of their initial BD releases. The menus are slick yet functional, and the picture quality is amazing considering the age of these films and their relatively low budgets. There is still some grain in the darker scenes of Evil Dead 2, but you really do appreciate the upgrade in PQ from the DVD. Day of the Dead looks even cleaner, I think. If you're a fan of either movie, you won't be disappointed about upgrading.

I was really impressed with Dawn of the Dead. It's so clean it looks like a new movie, almost. I've never seen any of these movies look so good.

Got it on order. I have the regular edition on DVD (same cover as the Blu release). Probably gonna take that to the used store this week along with my Dawn of the Dead DVD. Won't be needing either soon. Hoping for Evil Dead to be released on Blu-ray too.

Picked Up Evil Dead 2 yesterday. It still looks great even though it is an old film. Now we need Army of Darkness.
