I am 30 and I have been playing since the Atari 2600/5200 days. I remember playing Defender on the 5200 and it would take about 5 hours to finish one game.

Where did those skills go?

My father still plays games and he is 60 next year. He plays every day almost. I expect to be the same.

No poll because polls are stupid.

Personally, I've been gaming since around 1986 or so. Now though, I'm starting to grow tired of it. I mean it's fun once in a while but I get bored of games quickly. I don't know what it is really.

I mean even hot new games like L4D2 and Uncharted 2 kind of bore me after a while.

So what are your thoughts?

My first system was SNES for christmas... maybe early early 90s when I was 4. I'll probably game forever maybe not as much online as I do now but I can always seeing it being some relevant part of me.

I don't remember the year, but my first gaming system was an original NES I got for Christmas. After it died I never got another console until I got an original Xbox from my wife as a Christmas present. However, in the interim, my sister got a PS1 which I played here and there. Now I have all 3 major systems, as well as a re-conditioned original NES console. I don't foresee quitting any time soon.

Be careful. Some people will say you can't play games on a Mac (except maybe solitaire).

Been playing like some since the Atari 2600 and it lost some of it's appeal. I can't really play a lot of 1 player games anymore, after about 15 min, I just get bored. I do like the online playing with friends with Madden, L4D, MW and next week...MW2...yea c'mon.

I've been a gamer since the Atari 2600. 1981-82 iirc? Doesn't look like I'm quitting anytime soon.

PC
PS
Nintendo 64
PS3

I play every so often, but not nearly as much as I used to.

Got my NES in '86 and haven't stopped playing games yet. I love games, they just keep getting better and better. I was only 6 when I got my NES, but loved it then and still love games.

I began when my parents bought me my first system, Sega Genesis. I was hooked. I got the first Sonic with the game and couldn't put it down. Since then I got SNES, N64, PS1, and PS2. I have loved every minute of it. Want to get a PS3, but now being a homeowner gets me distracted from the other things, so hopefully one day I can get it, or wait till the next series.

I've been gaming for as long as I can remember. Started off with a NES and SNES that my dad had. Purchased Nintendo the next two generations, but ended up selling the Gamecube and got an Xbox. I now have a 360, but I'm not sure I'll continue to game past this generation. I find myself having less and less time for it. I still enjoy it when I get the time though.

1987 for me, when I got an NES for my Christmas gift. I recently decided to stop playing Madden so I guess now all I really have is Final Fantasy, hoping XIII will be better than X-2 and XII.

Gamer since early 1982. I keep saying this is my last year. Then an awesome game comes out that pulls me right back in.

Up until the current gen... I've only owned one console at a time. The bolded consoles got pretty regular play... and the non bolded represent more occasional play. I'm 41 now.... and I see myself continuing to game until it is no longer fun for me... or until I am too old and arthritic to handle a controller.... whichever comes first.
