So, question... the $10 off coupons attached to some slipcovers... are they a store exclusive somewhere?

Actually, I have the 60 GB PS3 and tried several times to get the BD to load. After hitting the select button and finding it stuck on Chapter 49 (!?!?) I gave UP, realizing that Disney ships these things with DVD's (yeah, I know, what the hell is a DVD?)!!! So, as it turned out, I watched my first DVD in over 2 years, thoroughly enjoyed the movie, and discovered that the BD loaded only by leaving it idle for several minutes while investigating further on blu-ray.com. I know from my past experience in making DVD backups, legally for my own personal use of course (achhemm *Netflix*), that these extra chapters are thrown in for (feeble) anti-piracy measures. But is that why I have to wait so long for my movie to load that I give up on it? What is this about? ![]() |

actually "an extra" would cost the normal price since your only allowed one $10 dollar discount. i got the dog and monsters inc but was only allowed to apply the discount to one item, not both

Yes. I had the audio completly stop. I have watched the movie twice now and it happens at the same exact spot. Not sure of the time frame but it happens when Carl is sitting on the front porch of the house and all of the constuction is going on. I think it is probably within the first 35 minutes of the movie. When it happens, if I go back a few seconds and relpay it the sound does not drop out and the movie plays fine the rest of the way. I have not had any issues with any other BD that I have played in my Samsung 1600 blu-ray player.

I did notice that too. All the disc for Up are on the hinges and on Monster, 2 disc on hinge and other 2 on the case itself. It must me a new blu-ray case. Never seen a case like that before.

My Up and Monsters Inc Blu-Rays came in 2 different kinds of cases.
Monsters Inc came in the typical kind of case that the Disney movies come in (I believe they are the Vortex brand or whatever). But Up came in a 4-disc elite case, which is not the kind that Disney normally uses. Did anyone else get this kind of case with either movie? This is not a big deal one way or the other, I just found it interesting. The Elite case for up is interesting, in that there are no disc hubs in the sides o the case at all. It just has 2 "page" inserts, each with which holds 2 discs (1 on each side of each page), for a total of 4. Monsters Inc's Vortex case does have a disc hub on each side of the inside of the case, with a 2-sided "page" for the other 2 discs. What really annoyed me about Monsters Inc is that someone was incredibly stupid when they put the security tags in there. They placed the security tags IN the disc hub on the side of the case where the clips that hold the papers/flyers that come with it are located. When I opened it and moved the papers, I saw black rectangular, raised magnetic strips sticking out slightly from behind the disc. And then when I moved the disc, I found that underneath that black security tag was one of those square, white, flat security tags. I just found this to by royally stupid (especially the raised, rectangular one) since I would think it could potentially cause some kind of damage to the disc or something. The good part is that it was the Digital Copy disc that they put on this side, which I really don't care that much about, but still, the principle is that this could damage any disc. Luckily I was able to remove the black rectangular tag without leaving any residue behind. I didn't bother with the other one, as it didn't seem to be causing much of a problem with it being as flat as it is. |
