Default Wall-E worth blind buy ($16.xx at Costco)?

With Up & Monsters Inc. out now, I've seen a lot of comparisons to Wall-E. Just wondering if Wall-E's worth a blind buy.

Everyone seems to like it, but I'm just wondering if I'll enjoy it with so little dialogue. What else goes on in the movie?

If it's $16 that's a VERY GOOD price. I like the movie, but IMO UP was much better. AQ is amazing just like any Pixar movie.

If you enjoyed the other Pixar movies then it is definitely worth a blind buy.

Yeah, I know the PQ & AQ are going to be excellent, but I'm just curious about the plot. Also, with the holidays near, I can't afford to be spending money on a movie I may not enjoy.

Thanks for the input so far, and please keep it coming.

Absolutely worth it. Great plot, great AQ and PQ, great all around. The film got an insane 96% on Rotten Tomatoes (although up got a 98%). It has a great story that all ages will love.

Wall-E is an amazing film. It's like Pixar's first attempt in doing something different. A romantic musical. The lead characters' animation is a very different challenge for the animators, because of their literally non-speaking roles. It's a technical achievement.

But depending on some people, not everybody can appreciate this right away.
My parents couldn't catch on to the film.
They've enjoyed all other Pixar's films, but the lack of dialogue for Wall-E just failed to capture their attention. =\
And I suspect some kids, who desire to be entertained by comedy may get restless as well.

Still, the 96% aggregate score on Rotten Tomatoes? It's there for a damn good reason.

If this wasn't near Christmas, this would be a no-brainer for me. I'm going to get Star Trek Tuesday though, I think I'll hold off on Fight Club, and I'm going to be getting 3 New Super Mario Bros (Wii game) for family as Christmas presents.

Throw Wall-E in & I'm spending major money this week. I don't make a whole lot as it is!

Once again, thanks for everyone's recommendations! Gonna think more about it.

Didn't float my boat...it is the only Pixar film I truly didn't care for (BTW absolutely love every other one)...first part was good, but really hated the earth-waste theme. Also couldn't get past the tipping ship in space scene- why would anything slide along the floor when a ship tilts in space?

How does a guy's house fly away with helium balloons? Or bugs talk? Or toys come to life? That's a silly reason for not liking this movie, but to each his own I guess.

To the OP, I thought Wall•E was a masterpiece!

Does it have much replay value for all of you that own it? That's also what I'm considering. I may enjoy it once, but have ya'll watched it more than once?

LOL, but yes it does have replay value in my opinion. Not something you can watch everyday or every week but occasionally. You really have to be in the mood for it, very slow film but Thomas Newman's score is outstanding.

I think so. But I have a four year old who watches the same movies over and over again. I have seen Wall-E about 3 times since release and feel that it has replay value. And if you ever have kids down the road you will get your money'' worth.
