Hi,
I know Wall Street is considered a classic and everything but it's just one of those movies I never got around to seeing. I like the trailers for Money Never Sleeps and was wondering if the original is worth a blind buy on blu. I just want to hear people's opinions on the quality of the movie itself and the actual picture quality of the disc. I read the review here and it wasn't great for PQ but I wanted to see what others have to say. Thanks! |

Great film. PQ is ok, nothing to write home about, a bit grainy at times. If you are going to see the sequel, I would definitely get the original even if its just DVD. Douglas is amazing and Charlie Sheen is excellent, some of the supporting cast are not so good like Daryl Hannah but not bad enough to spoil the film.

I picked this up a while back for $9.99 on blu, I would say the transfer in parts is a marked improvement over the DVD. Yes, it is grainy. Yes, it has aged some (the movie). But its a great movie, one of my favorites, Douglas' win for an Oscar was well deserved, I hope Charlie has a cameo in the new movie coming up, but I think the sequel will not live up to its predecessor
![]() As Much as I want it too, I like the trailer for Money never sleeps, I just was not wowed by it. Will still by regardless though ![]() |

Loved the movie though, as everyone have said, PQ isn't up to par to today's BD standards.
Just like other classic movies, Wall Street has a lot of memorable quotes & lines. Though I personally think the greed depicted in this film is nothing compared to the hubris displayed by the actual financial institutions & their constituents lately. |

+1. You have Michael Douglas in his prime and Charlie Sheen in one of his first big roles, and his dad is in the movie too. Its OK, showing the excesses of the time and how Wall Street brokerage firms were inside trading.

Thanks for all the responses so far! I may end up renting it. It's just really disappointing when a movie doesn't have a good transfer to Blu. There should be a standard for PQ/AQ. If it doesn't look much better than the DVD then what's the point?
But anyway, I'll try to rent it the next time I'm around Blockbuster. |

Heck yeah, it's one one Oliver Stone's best. While the PQ is'nt perfect, it's the best the film has ever looked. The extras are pertty good too, my only gripe is the Greed Is Good documantary is "windowboxed". Definately worth the 9.99 I spent on it. Now if we can only get Platoon on the superior format!
