I created an entire thread about this, which has 12 pages worth of recommendations, many of them very good. I know of many people who have messaged me regarding the recommendations. Btw, although I have not seen The Girl With the Dragon Tattoo, it is among the best books I have ever read. The sequel is even better. Below is the link to the thread:

If you enjoyed Red cliff, you have to see the earlier Hong Kong work of John Woo. The Killer, Hard Boiled and Bullet in the Head are must sees.

I would suggest the House of Flying Daggers. It was a good film on the same level as Crouching Tiger. The Blu-Ray version seemed to get a bad review for PQ on this site and I haven't seen it so can't say if it is accurate but this movie had good PQ and awesome colors and visuals on DVD.

A lot of ones I would reccomend have been mentioned already. The only other one that comes to mind right now, and I'm not sure if anybody's mentioned it yet, is "Wages of Fear." It's pretty intense and well-made; logistics at its most extreme!!
![]() And if you can tolerate some anime, I can also reccomend "Akira" and "Ghost in the Shell" (coming out soon). |
