I use a Monster HDP-2400. Works fine and has enough outlets for my use.

APC H15. Helped popularize here on the forums along with Johk and Slec. The H10 or H15 are good bets. Monster line conditioners are among the best too (ironically, for their price) - as are any Panamax units you may find.

JJ...you don't know the half of it. Monster power conditioners are outrageously expensive for some reason up here in Canada. Like I mean double the price if not more. I only bought mine because it was $199 on Boxing Day @ Future Shop....regular $499. I got lucky!

I use a Tripp Lite HT1210ISOCTR Power Conditioner.

I love it. Has plenty of outlets. remote control, and nice LEDs.

Well, we'd all swear by our own units, so you can't go wrong with any brand.

I will tell you about the night of 22 Times, in which here in thunderstormy Miami, my power went out 22 times in the span of 2 hours. Everything was fine afterwards. It would go out - come back in 5 minutes - stay that way for a bit - then black out again. Fun night, that was. After the 4th time, I stopped setting the clocks. After the 3rd one, I shut my movie off.

They give everything plugged into them A steady current that is not fluctuating up & down as with having it plugged into A wall outlet . And of course they protect against surges & lags in the power .

So do you plug it into the wall or another surge protector?

You plug it into the wall . It does the job from there .

I have A lot of money invested in my living room HT & I don't worry about it at all as far as anything to do with electricity .

Whichever one you want. They're all solid. Pick the one that fits your budget. Although APC units seem to be hard to find nowadays.

APC, Panamax, or Monster are all solid choices.

everyone at this site who knows me knows I take power quality and protection seriously (too seriously for some) i have dedicated 20a circuits for my equipment, terminated to a 20a duplex hospital grade IG TVSS (Transient Voltage Surge Suppressor) type receptacle.

http://www.1.bestbuyelectric.com/aca...IGB_28764.html

plugged into that is a 1800w line conditioner for my XPA-5 amp, also plugged into the TVSS receptacle is a UPS w/AVR for the rest of my equipment. Oh yeah, i've got a whole house surge protector in the panel.

like crazy said, i paid a lot of money for my gear. not just the HT gear, but i also protect my pc's and other HDTV's in other rooms not necessarily in a HT configuration. Every pc & tv is protcted in my house. as well as my major appliances. I'm a paranoid electrician and i just know electricity is waiting for me/us to slip up and will put the smack'down on the gear! don't let that happen, protect your stuff! lots of folks say you don't need to do anything except plug your gear into the wall, well, those folks haven't been to peoples houses or their places of work and seen the damage that electricity have caused; i have. most of all of those things could have been protected against had the proper protective device(s) been in place. yes, all of them were just "plugged straight into the wall"

PROTECT YO STUFF!
