Default If you had to choose only 1 PSP game...

Hi,

My PSP has a bunch of demos, movies, songs and pictures on it and I'm looking to buy a game now.

But... I can't relate much to the $40 price of most PSP games. I have a few PS1 classics on there because $5.99 seems more like the right price for this kind of thing to me.

That said.. I got a gift card so it feels like free money of sorts so I want to buy a full PSP game and I can't decide.

It will likely be a long time before I buy another game unless all the prices drop so I ask if you had to pick just one PSP game what would you choose?

(Note- I have the PSP Go so stocking up on used UMD titles isn't an option sadly.)

Cantidates seem to be Artic Edge, Broken Destiny, or perhaps even LBP in that order.

Honestly I wasn't satisfied with Broken Destiny and was hoping for more out of it. I mean unless you must play as Kratos and fight other Soul Calibur characters with him then I say it's not worth owning. If you want a good fighting game get Fate/Unlimited Codes.

And now it's 50% off the original price for $15.

Without a doubt, "God of War: Chains of Olympus" is the best game for the PSP. Because of the fixed camera style, it's not hindered by the lack of a second analog stick.

Hey Thanks,

I've never played a God of War game yet but I checked reviews and they were great and unless I read it wrong I think this one is only $19.99 on PSN.

Seems like I may have found my answer. I'll play the demo and check it out.

If you like old school arcade games you cant go wrong with Capcom's Remixed and Reloaded PSP UMD games. They have like 20 classics on each! The Midway and Namco PSP collections are good as well!

There are plenty of good older psp games that you can find super cheap.

I would recommend god of war, daxter, ratchet and clank, both syphon filters and both loco roco's. All of those can be find super cheap and are great.

Oh and if you like racing games I would go with wipeout pulse.

Thanks all,

I bought God of War: Chains of Olympus.

I was expecting to spend more so maybe I'll pick up another game sooner than I thought.

Anyway,... Thanks again,

This game will whet your appetite for God of War 3. Assuming you've got a PS3 aswell, I think they've re released God of War 1 and 2 in the US and if you've not played them you should consider them too.
Happy gaming!

Three others I love are Patapon 2, Loco Roco 2 and Little Big Planet. The first two of those are 19.99 or less I think.

Can't really do that as I bought Chains of Olympus already.

Perhaps I can pick up the collection and play more of that and save a bit of CoO or something like that.

I'm not sure if I've ever felt like more of a badass playing a game than when I played Final Fantasy 7: Crisis Core. The action should satisfy those who enjoy action games, plus the story is great. It is also a semi-long game, so that also satisfies the desire to only buy one game every once in a while. Add in replay value, and you have a deal!

Not sure if you made your purchase but I'm going to step outside of the box and recommend a game called "Kenka Bancho" (rel. in the US by Atlus). Fighting elements and pretty much a game about you being a gang member in Japan and you go on a high school field trip and take on gang leaders of various cities (who are all on vacation with their local high school). Fun game!

My choice would be DJ Max Black Sqare Edition.
