No one buying Funny People? - Blu-ray Forum

Just looking in the "most recent bought thread," and it seems like no one is buying Funny People.

Am I the only one buying it? I thought it was going to be a little better, but I still thought it was a good, funny movie. I pre-ordered it from Best Buy when they were doing the 20% (or was it 30%) off a few weeks ago.

Purchased. Almost as much for the film as the commentary track. I'm a huge Apatow fanboy.

Just got mine from Netflix 20 minute ago. I'll probably buy it if I like it.

Not me. Saw it in the theater and it was terrible. This coming from a huuuuuge Sandler and Apatow fan.

I saw it at the drive-ins during its theatrical release. I liked the film but don't think I would ever watch it again. I definitely recommend viewing before purchase.

Not buying. Not going to hate on this film. It was a flop for Universal and it just not a very good idea from the start IMO. Proceed at your own risk

I enjoyed the film despite it's bloated run-time. I think the price point is a bit too high for their to be much buzz about the release.

Will probably Netflix it first, I think that the trailer summarizes the whole movie in the 2 minutes lol. Not in a hurry to see it though...

I was able to get it at Best Buy for $20.99 (preordered during their 30% off sale) so I bought it. I like other Apatow films, so I gave this a try.

I don't see comedies at the theater as well as don't buy them on bluray.
For me comedies are just a rental.

I didn't see it in the theater and I'm trying to cut down on blind-buying after having been let down SO many times. It's on the way from Netflix, though. Plus the price is ridiculous considering that other highly-anticipated new releases like "The Hangover" and "Terminator: Salvation" are currently $15.99.

not to offend-- but I would be just fine never seeing another film by
Apatow and his boys (Adam Sandler, Seth Rogan, et al)

I'm tired of their schtick-- it's not very funny to begin with and the
crude factor is unappealing to me

I like Apatow's films. I find them funny. However, I wouldn't mind if they were a little less crude also.

Some of these I want to watch with the folks, but they'd be a little offended by some of the material.

I will buy it, just waiting for it to drop a few bucks, guess Im just getting spoiled by Wal-Mart and there lowered priced new releases.

I blind bought it for $20.99 when Amazon had their recent sale (to match Best Buy).

I'm doin' the same here.

And I RARELY buy the first day it's released. So far I've only done that with a couple titles...this movie will drop way down in price soon enough.
