Default How is the Onkyo TX-SR507?

How is the Onkyo TX-SR507 receiver? Its at a pretty good price on Amazon.com at $245 and I'm considering buying it.

Thumbs up Onkyo

Here is a comparison on two of Onkyo's most popular receivers, the TX-SR507 and the TX-SR607. The 507 is a 5.1 channel receiver, whereas the 607 is a 7.2. The 507 is rated at 80 wpc, the 607 at 90 wpc. The 507 has 4 HDMI inputs, the 607 has 6 HDMI inputs. The 506 does not upscale incoming video signals, the 607 does. That's pretty much all of the differences between the two. They are both excellent receivers. Onkyo has always been known to give a lot of value for the buck. I don't think you could go wrong with the 507, so long as you don't need 7.1 or 7.2 sound.

Anyone else have feedback on this? Seems like a great price for me to upgrade.

It is a great price. It was $300+ a few months ago. Seems like a great deal for a solid receiver that does just about everything you need it to do. I was eyeing it earlier this year, but decided to go with the Denon AVR590 instead. I say go for the Onkyo.

I only have 5.1. So is 507 the best bet?

I was looking at the Sony DH800 during Best Buy's Black Friday too. Is it inferior to the 507?
