Default Vegas show advice needed

I'm having a tough time deciding what show to go see in Vegas this NYE and I was hoping somebody can give me some input. My fiance and I are getting married on New Year's Day in Vegas and will be there from the 30th to Jan 2. We want to go see something on NYE with the family, around 7 pm and then all split up after that so people can do whatever they want. Us youngins will go out and party and the moms and grandmas will do their thing.

Here's the thing - we really want to see a Cirque du Soleil show at some point, either on NYE or on Saturday night, our first night alone as husband and wife. Beatles LOVE is at the top of the list but the seats are really expensive for literally like the top row. Unfortunately I've seen every other Cirque show except for Zumanity, which is not family friendly. I'm torn on whether or not to see Mystere again, with awesome front section seats, for about $120 each, or Love in the top row for $140 each. I love Mystere but I keep thinking it's stupid to see something I've already seen...but then I'm like, it sucks to pay so much and be in the top row seats for Love...

We don't have to see Cirque either...if anyone knows of any other good shows we are open. Other choices for us include David Copperfield and Phantom at the Venetian.

Anybody have any advice?? Now that I am actually writing it out I am leaning toward going to the show I haven't seen yet, Love....even though no one else in my group has seen Mystere either...

Sounds like you really want to see Love and personally, it's well worth it. I don't remember tickets being that expensive for it but I was there for my wedding as well so it may have just got lumped in with everything else. I would pay to go see it again.

Don't hesitate to go see Love. One of my favorite Cirque du Soleil show.

The thing with Cirque du Soleil is it's very expensive but it's the one show you are guaranteed to get your money's worth.

If you like the Beatles and you like Cirque du Soleil, it's a no brainer.

Yeah...both you guys are right. Every time I've seen one of their shows, especially "O," within like the first 5 minutes I've thought ok, this was worth it.

Do you guys know of any other good shows to see? If we go see Love we still have one other night to see a show, either alone or with the family. I know there's a ton of shows in Vegas but there's really not that many I am actually interested in...don't want to see any of the singers with residencies there, not interested in many of the magicians... have you guys seen or know anyone who has seen Phantom or David Copperfield?

I saw David Copperfield local and it was a pretty good show. I can't imagine what he does on the Vegas scale. The only other ones I saw there were Penn & Teller and Zumanity.

Go see LOVE i'm not even a big beatles fan and absolutely loved it. There is no such thing as a bad seat in that theater. It's worth the money. Not a big musical fan either but I saw Phantom while I was there and that was absolutely my favorite show of all time it was awesome.

This is good to hear since the only seats left are near the top. They always SAY that about theater shows but sometimes you wonder. Looks like it's going to be LOVE with the family and Phantom with the new bride on Saturday.

I do not think you will be disappointed. At LOVE we sat about 3/4 the way up and it was just fine (you probably saw the chart but its a circular stage). We had better seats for Phantom but it was just an amazing show.

If you're not touchy about sexual content, Zumanity (Cirque) at New York, New York is a pretty fun show. My wife and I went for our last hurrah in Vegas when we went (basically the same days you're going, actually) last year and we both really enjoyed it. I've seen Phantom four times, and while the stage show in Vegas is definitely well done, it's kind of a "Greatest Hits" version of Phantom and condenses it down quite a bit, so it wasn't my favorite presentation. Plus, I thought the dude playing the Phantom wasn't that great, but it was still enjoyable.

Zumanity was definitely an option as well, but we decided we wanted something more "fancy" if you will for Saturday night and it had to be family friendly for the other night. So I just bought good seats for Phantom and we're going to have dinner at the Venetian before. Buying 10 tickets for Love tonight as well. Zumanity will be the last Cirque show I haven't seen, so it saves something for next time

I've been a casual Tool fan for quite some time, but lately I've been REALLY getting into them. 10,000 Days has been on heavy rotation in my car for a month or two now. I'm kicking myself for missing them the last time they came to town.

I think you'll have a good time with Phantom. But definitely go see Zumanity sometime. Even if you don't like some of the shows you see, it's still hard to have a bad time in Vegas. I'm not much of a traveller and often dislike feeling out of my element, but I didn't want to leave when we went last year.

Man you have to see them the next time you have a chance. I saw them 5 times 2 years ago when they were touring during the release of 10,000 days. Probably the only rock band I would still pay to go see.

Consider watching La Reve at Wynn. My wife and I saw it last year and to say it was awesome is an understatement.

Have you seen "O" though? I thought about seeing La Reve but I don't know, the reviews weren't through the roof or anything. It was created/directed by the guy who directed O and O is supposed to be superior.

Anyway, tickets are bought, Love on NYE and Phantom later in the week. Rest of the time will be spent in various degrees of drunken stupor.
