Default BD/HDud Question

So we all know that the specs for DB and HDud are different...

I was just wordering, and if it's been posted before i'm sorry, but when a company is duel format do they produce a HDud title and port it over to blu... Or do they port blu over to Hdud?

It just seems like porting would: A) save them money... but B) Suck if the BDs are just ported duds.

With that being said... When the dud fails will we get good redone movies, or will they just port the dud to blu?

The reason I ask is because there seems to be a lot of porting games from the 360 to the PS3 without putting any effort into them to make them all that they could be on the PS3. I just dont want some second rate crap because companies are too lazy to A) Stop supporting a failing/inferior format and B) redo the movies with lossless audio and blu-ray capable PQ.

From what I've seen so far, they port HD-DVD to Blu-ray... seen this with Warner Brothers for some time. Blu-ray specs are too high-end to port (downgrade so to speak) to HD-DVD. I guess it costs them too much in the end to make a true Blu-ray version, they would have to do 2 separate encodes.

That's what I thought. So I assume when the dud clears out and a year passes they will be re-releasing some of the ported movies for a little extra cash, and to show what they should have looked like in the first place.
