Default Extreme Digital Cinema...

Sorry the title should be Xtreme Digital...

I went to watch Ninja Assassin last night and when i went to purchase the tickets they guy at the booth told me i had to pay extra for the tickets becuase the movie is in XD... I was like whats that as i never heard of an Extreme Digital theatre.... He told me it has a bigger screen, with better picture and much better sound, with brand new leather recliners to sit in

instead of $10/ticket it cost $14/ticket... I was like ok.. lets try it out... Its was freakin amazing... The screen was freak huge!!!.. The sound was by far one of the best ive ever heard in any theatre... & great overall picture quality as well...

I saw this locally in Union City Century 25 in the bay area... They only have ONE XD screen in the whole theatre, out of 25 screens... This is actually the first time ive heard of XD.. has anyone else seen a movie in XD? and what did you think?

The movie was great by the way.. didnt expect it to be so bloody and gorry though... i liked it

A buddy of mine saw a film at one of these theatres up here, think it was called EX or something along those line. He said the screen was bigger and the sound was better but made no mention of leather recliners, which would be sweet.

I will see if I can get him to chime in.

My wife and I used to go to that movie theater a lot. I wonder if there are other locations in the Bay Area that offer XD. I guess this is the movie theaters' answer to those nice home theaters. I'd have to check it out soon.

Ya I went to one in Toronto, at the AMC Yonge Dundas. They only have one theatre, but they call it EX Digital.
Screen was slightly bigger, not a huge improvement imo, not like an IMAX screen anyway. Seats were also regular theatre seats. No leather unfortunately.

Movie I seen was Law Abiding Citizen.

I guess it is a ply to get people back to the theatres. Which is why there are more IMAX films coming out lately, along with a swarm of 3D movies. But regardless of my 60" bad boy at home, I still go to the theatre allll the time

I fall asleep enough as it is during movies at home. I pay to see a movie one time at the theatre, I wouldn't want to be that comfortable!!
