It looks like a really good movie based on the ad. I didn't even know it had came out already. I downloadedd the trailer via the Playstation store and it looked good in HD, can't wait till it's released.

I'd get it!!!
real "Kill Bill" or "300" like as far as extreme blood flying everywhere...sorta weak story, but it's frickin' ninjas! And lotsa complaints the action was hard to see, or too dark- BUT IT"S FRICKIN' NINJAS!!! Anyways, my only complaint was overkill on the sound-effects!!! I liked it! ![]() |

What's that mean? You had no interest in the movie but you stopped by this thread to point that out anyway? Or you're so cool you don't even take free things? Anyhow...so this may be out on steel huh? |

For one, I was pretty sure this movie was Warner Brothers. So it will most likely be an Iron Case. Will definitely be skipping this, was super disapointed to see a big budget Martial Arts movie with a pop star cast as lead, there are so many talented Martial Artists out there just waiting for a chance, and they cast a pop star..... such a waste.

Did you see it and didn't like the guy/movie?
Or did you see who was in it and decide not to even see it??? It was by NO means the best martial arts move this decade...but fun for what it was! I think Li, Chan, Jaa whoever you want to pick all make good movies and bad ones. Just depends on the movie writing, directing, sure acting too...but this Rain guy was fine for me. Movie would've been exactly the same if it was Tony Jaa! It's how it was written and directed. A little bit of Ninja exploitation if you will, from the makers of V for Vendetta. So if you didn't like that, you weren't going to like this! Just my thoughts! ![]() |

Sorry just felt I'd clarify the bad attitude in my post. I guess after being raised on low budget kung fu movies, I am disapointed at the lack of quality releases coming out in the genre. I know it's a small market in North America, only since Jackie and Jet Li came over have we started to see some crossover Kung Fu movies with real stories, real people, real budgets and so on.
I also really disliked the Kill Bill movies, as a martial artist myself I typically watch the movies and enjoy marvelling in form, elegance, speed, and power. When you don't employ a martial artist in lead, you get no form, elegance, speed or power. You get a coached person, who is doing a dance, ala The Matrix and so on. It might just be my opinion, but I do not enjoy the action scenes in these movies. They look fake, the people look bad, and their form is always horrible, but I digress and will always hope in the future some people will get it right. Watch Jet Li and Yasuaki Kurata fight in Fist of Legend, in a very educational fight of adaptation, then go watch Keanu and Laurence in The Matrix, no amount of budget can dress that up to the level it could be. I love The Matrix and find it an incredibly entertaining movie, because it didn't rely on martial arts to tell a story, and it isn't a martial arts movie, just a movie I use as a comparison where it can be done right, and wrong. Just my opinion of couse, and I apologize for the wall of text, felt I needed to express my opinion better then just a Ninja Assassin bash hehe. I plan to see the movie more out of curiosity, with open eyes I might add ![]() |
