Just bought a sony 46XBR9 and decided i rather have a PIONEER ELITE KURO 111FD instead but i've googled that tv and every link u click on, every store, when u call them, doesn't have it. I know they aren't made anymore but i figured SOMEWHERE in all of these United STATES SOMEWHERE, at least 1 STATE, would still have some in stock. I'd even buy a used one if the price was right. Anyone know by Chance where i might get one of these? Google, ebay, amazon, craigslist, none of them have working links. Thanks

I'm not sure whether or not they'll have some KUROs in stock, but ValueElectronics is a pretty reputable dealer. A few members on here have purchased their panels from them.

I'm not sure why you're dead set on the 111FD when a 500M can be had easily enough. Robert from Value Electronics even sells them with ISF modes enabled and calibrated by D-Nice himself. It doesn't get any better than these panels. There's tons of info about these pdps over at the AVS board. They sport the 10th generation panel and are constructed with the exact same quality parts as the the 101FD. He even offers optional speaker bundles if needed. I'm not trying to push the 500M on you, I just don't see why you're so desperate to get a 111FD, that you would sell your audio gear when a better panel can be had for probably cheaper.
![]() Even taking that Sony back and getting a Panasonic V10 would be big upgrade from that LCD. I would even get the Panny S1 for all that. Either way, good luck on your quest. |

He is saying the Panny is better then the Sony. The 101 and the KRP 500M are better then the 111FD. The 101 and 500M have the 10th gen panel and are the only Pioneer sets that share this quality. Get a 500M, just remember it's a monitor only no speakers.

Yeah, you should probably take c-net reviews with a grain of salt. They are constantly editing stuff because they get their facts twisted quite often. Go over to AVS and learn a little bit about these panels and you'll see what I'm talking about. I wouldn't wait much longer as the 500Ms are going to jump in price as soon as the dealers start getting low on stock (which alot have even sold out). |

Also, u said this is a 10TH Gen PANEL but look at the specs i found here of it: Specifications TV type: Plasma Diagonal screen size: 50 inch Aspect ratio: 16:9 Additional features: + 9th-generation Kuro panel + Optimum mode auto A/V optimization + ISF C3 calibration + 1080p24 input-ready + Kuro Link (HDMI-CEC) + dual HDMI terminals As u can see from the page specs, it's saying it's a 9th GEN panel, not 10TH gen which would be the same as the 111fd or the 151 no? I've always bought xbrs and samsung lcds so i've never bought a plasma cause i was always afraid since i play a lot of ps3 and ps1 games and watch a lot of movies that i would eventually get stuck with some kind of burn in even though sets are better made nowadays but u can still get burn in playing games and watching dvd's if u leave them on pause long enough and i was told playing a lot of rpgs is what causes burn in because of the life bars, things like that. I want to make sure i'm doing the right thing so keep all the great advice coming, well appreciated ![]() |

Also, I saw value electronics, which was recommended to me here, they want 2000 bucks, but other places have it up to 200-250 dollars cheaper? Is the 2000 because this D NICE guy calibrates it on his own without u telling him and that extra cash is his personal charge to calibrate it? Or a can i not calibrate it myself like i do with the xbrs by getting a calibration setting from one of u or someone on a/v forum? I'm holding off to see what u guys tell me as i value ALL ur advice, thanks ![]() |

D-Nice is the Pioneer and Panasonic guru over at AVSforum. Very knowledgeable on all things plasma and calibration (but doesn't reflect his name a lot on the forum -can be a bit short and nasty if you get him going...). He has calibrated some 500m's pre-sale (but remember good calibration also needs info of room conditions and HD material.
