I never picked up Casino Royale on BD because I wanted the fully uncut version. I am aware the Australian BD release is uncut, but I've been trying for months to find a store that carries the Australian release of the Deluxe Edition of Casino Royale without any luck, all I find is the original single disc release and the Deluxe Edition of the DVD release. I now wonder if the Deluxe Edition ever received a BD release in Australia at all.
Anyway, I'm looking for a Region B release that's both the Deluxe Edition (2 disc set), is fully uncut and comes in a regular BD case (instead of a digipack like the French and the cut UK release). What are my options, and where can I order it online? |

It sure did. But its not 'Deluxe' its 'Collectors' and its Region Free. Quatum of Solace is Region B. https://www.blu-ray.com/movies/Casin...-Blu-ray/3567/ I would say its sold out. You might have to keep looking on Ebay or buy the regular edition. Last edited by LordCrumb; 12-07-2009 at 06:13 PM. |

The Netherlands and Australian Versions are Uncut and both have a Deluxe Version.
NL: http://www.freerecordshop.nl/films/j...-8712609660180 AUS: http://chaos.com/product/casino_roya...53_789815.html FRS should be fine to order if you can get through registration. It says 3-5 days after order so they may or may not have it in stock. I don't know anything about Chaos however. Also, all the releases are Region Free. I know you are looking for a RB version, but the RA Japanese version is also Uncut: http://www.amazon.co.jp/007-%E3%82%A...0227344&sr=8-1 Last edited by AnimeOnBlu; 12-07-2009 at 10:13 PM. |

I JUST won one on eBay in "never viewed" condition last night. That's so funny.
It seems many Aussie eBayers have taken to stocking the U.S. Deluxe Edition which is also region-free. So if the item has a stock photo, be sure to ask if the edition is Australian. The obvious giveaway is the huge blue and white "M" certificate printed on the cover. Quote:

US PG13 compared to German: http://movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=4011
UK compared to 'Uncut' (Australia etc): http://movie-censorship.com/report.php?ID=4008 DVDcompare.net: US Cuts The following cuts have been made: - After an overhead shot of Bond and the contact smashing down a wall, the first and last few frames of a shot of Bond elbowing the contact in the chest are removed. - Directly after, a shot Bond smashing the door into the contact's face is completely removed. - After Bond gets to his feet, he kicks the contact in the face. This is missing from the US version. - Directly after, we see Bond grabbing the contact, who in turn grabs a garbage can, which he hurls at Bond. In the US version, we only get the last few frames of this. - When Bond hauls the contact to his feet and manouevres him towards another sink, the start of a low angle shot showing the contact's face as he struggles is cut. - The drowning of the contact is dramatically shortened. First, a close-up of the contact as he is held under is replaced with a shot of the contact's legs kicking. - Directly after, a close-up of Bond's intense face is removed. - Following this, we cut back to the contact as his struggles weaken. This is missing in the US version. - The high shot showing Obanno's bodyguard hitting the ground below after being thrown over the banister is removed. This shot is placed between Bond and Obanno fighting. - A close-up of Obanno as Bond smashes his head into a window, shattering it, is missing from US version. - Directly after, a wider shot of Obanno recovering and attacking again is cut due to the previous trim. - The first few frames of Obanno being thrown into a wall are missing in the US version. - Obanno grabbing Vesper's leg as she tries to run away is completely removed. - The following shot of Vesper falling but stopping herself in time is cut due to the previous shot's removal. - After we see Vesper try to open the emergency exit, a wide shot of Bond shoving Obanno back is missing from the US version. - Directly following, a wide shot of BG2 falling back is also missing. - Afterwards, Obanno reacting as Bond kicks him is too cut. - Obanno rams Bond against the wall, but not in the US version. - When Bond and Obanno struggle on the floor, Bond chokes BG2. The second angle of Obanno's feet kicking is removed. - After we see Obanno's face, we see him reaching for the gun on the ground. Missing from the US version. - A wider shot of them struggling is cut directly after. - The next shot, Obanno reaching for the gun again, is cut. In the US version, we only see Obanno reaching for the gun just before Vesper intervenes. - A shot of frightened Vesper breaks a shot of Obanno's legs starting to stop kicking. In the uncut version, the legs starting to slow is in one continuous shot, followed by the frightened Vesper shot. Uk Cuts: The BBFC advised the company that the torture scene placed too much emphasis on both the infliction of pain and the sadism of the villain for the requested '12' category. When the completed version of the film was submitted for classification, reductions to the torture sequence had been made, including the removal of lingering shots of the rope, close shots of Bond's facial reaction and the substitution of a more distant shot of the beating compared to the original version." "The torture sequence is now shorn of Le Chiffre’s taunting line about Bond's rock-chiselled physique. Whereas the "R-rated" versions show Mikkelsen drape the knotted rope over Bond's shoulder and utter the words "Such a waste" after commenting on how well he has looked after himself ("You've taken good care of your body" line), the UK version omits this." Thanks for all your replies.

As for the Dutch release, I managed to place an order with FreeRecordShop. Their shipping is a bit expensive though (almost 8 euros for each product). Anyone knows any other Dutch stores with good service that carries this BD release? --- Speaking of the James Bond franchise, is there any site that has a comparison between the different BD releases of the films (uncut status, difference in transfers, ...)? I am also curious about Quantum of Solace. The UK release was apparently pre-cut before submitted to the BBFC. What BD releases (that work on a Region B player) were released fully uncut? There doesn't seem to be much information about this issue, as opposed with what happened to Casino Royale. Last edited by Funktion; 12-08-2009 at 01:48 PM. |

Does anyone know if this is true, or if indeed the same cut was released on BD worldwide? |

Exactly the same version, which means UNCUT!
Btw, the Dutch Deluxe Edition is exactly the same as the French release. Idiot censorship, when do they realize that we're not in WOII anymore? ![]() Last edited by Celerony; 12-25-2009 at 10:37 PM. |

Since you already have the German version with all the bonus materials, I would suggest you to take the old Dutch 1 disc version; PQ and AQ are exactly the same and it's a bit cheaper.
Maybe does the opening scene of Casino Royale indicate what must happen with all those idiots at the BBFC? ![]() ![]() ![]() |

Well I got the Belgium deluxe edition on Ebay, not too expensive either. Be nice to finally have it on bluray uncut, though I'm so paranoid I won't be happy until I have it in my PS3.

I'm pretty sure I just got the same edition you did (there was only one Belgian in the search results), and I think it's worth noting that for some reason, this edition only contains Disc I (the film and commentaries + BD-Live game) and NOT Disc II which contains most of the bonus material. I'm a little let down, but also happy to have the uncut film. Last edited by sillywabbit; 12-31-2009 at 11:38 AM. |

Yepz, the French Deluxe Edition release is the same, except for the cover. (In Holland en Belgium we have EXACTLY the same version, including the cover)
The Deluxe Edition is 2-disc, the old release 1 disc, which you can recognize by the well-known gray cover. Friendly greetings from behind the dikes! ![]() EDIT: I am not familiar with a 1-disc version of the new release, (with BD-live and Dolby TrueHD) so that's news for me! ![]() Last edited by Celerony; 01-04-2010 at 02:20 PM. |
