Folklore: release date vs. ship date... didn't know there was a diff. - Blu-ray Forum

Folklore came out today. I had a pre-order and asked "when would i be able to pick it up?" They said Oct 9th.. checked all websites, that date matched.

Called EB Games, they said they're getting it tomorrow, that it "Shipped" today. somehow i feel mislead. called another store, and they just said it's probably due to that my area is not a high priority like a major multi-hundred thou populated city (we're barely 100k, redding, ca).

So... i guess i have to wait another day... and to look forward, if I want a game that's released on a tuesday, I'll have to wait til wednesday... anyone else have this problem in the city they live in?

I hear you, Gamestop calls me saying your game is out. I get there "come in tomorrow before one". It has happened with 13 of my PS3 games, but they make sure everyone got Halo at 12:00.

whenever gamestop does this its ussually because the workers are too lazy to open all their boxes and get their merchandise out.

I have a friend who manages a gamestop so i get my preorders there. I went in onetime to pick up a game they told me the same thing. I said hey sorry man can you look thru the boxes im in a hurry and oh yeah david said it would be here..

he went to eh back.. 2 mins later i had my stuff

Pretty much, if it's a ship date with GameStop, that means, they aren't on good enough terms with that distributor for pre-stock. Or the title is of such limited popularity that pre-stock isn't warranted.
