The Wolf Man (1941). I love that movie, it is my favorite of the old Universal Classic monster movies.

I have an idea, why don't you actually contribute to the thread. I was aksed a question and gave an answer to his question (Czar did you have prob with my answer?). Why did you have to reply at all if you were not going to add anything to the conversation? You have a bone to pick with me then say whats on your mind or take it to a PM I would love to discuss this further if you care to do so.

I completely agree. It's a sub-genre that doesn't produce quality films whatsoever. Entertaining? Maybe. Good films? No.

La Dolce Vita? Wild Strawberries? WTF are these films? Citizen Kane, All Quiet on the Western Front? 12 Angry Men? You got to be kidding right? So I would rent them on VHS not having money for a Laser Disc player, but with the advent of DVD and Criterion it opened up a whole new world to me. I am discovering a new film all the time, in fact tonight I am going to watch Diary of a Country Priest and this weekend try to watch Bergman's Scenes from a Marriage ....I have heard good things. So no in answer to your question I did not grow up on old films I gained an appreciation over time. I also think about 80% of the films Hollywood cranks out today are special effects garbage. It seems common place to have a lousy script, terrible acting and no character development but if we can pump 100 million into special effects the audience will go nuts. Also all the remakes, reboots and for god sake even an alternate timeline....are we really this desperate? No new material?

What's really funny is reading the board and seeing where the younger crowd thinks films that came out in my youth like Cujo and American Warewolf in London are held in such high regard when they were average to terrible back then.

I completely agree with you and that's one way I came upon the classics too. However, we shouldn't detract from this thread and those who do enjoy these films.

Naw I didnt have a prob with it! But to be real, I think some people on here have a prob with u and some other people that think they know it all about films and which ones are good or not. I mean the way u and a few others come off. Anyway I personally dont care or have a prob with it, but thats what I think other people feel. I am comfortable enough to not trip even if a movie I like gets bashed without getting upset! I may defend it or whatever but I wont thread crap a certain response. I get certain people to thread crap responding to me to get my attention but if its a dumb enough response I just ignore it and that gets to people more because they dont get your attention! lol Got Em!!

Smells like someone is wrong... again.

You either need to watch more movies that aren't art haus flicks when you hear about their nominations to teh Academy Awards, or just simply admit that you're wrong.

Wolf Man was a good film.

So was American Werewolf in London, Ginger Snaps {yes, all 3} Dog Soldiers, the Howling and there are many others.

I fully agree about the movie watching! As I need to open my eyes to more of art haus flicks as u call it or big epic films, I feel some need to also open their eyes to other movies as well. Not just big award nominated films! There are plenty of films that are great in my opinion that wouldnt win an award from the so-called movie public! Expand everybody! Got Em!!

I love the Wolfman (1941), but I could watch American Werewolf in London over and over. Howling will always hold a special place in my heart and Bad Moon is the guilty pleasure.
