Cool Upgrading my speakers finally I think.

Looking at Boston Acoustics;

1 pair VR3's

1 pair of VRX surrounds

1 VRC center.

I already have a REL 505 sub and love it.

Anyone here own/ have owned Boston Acoustics?

I've had Boston Acoustics speakers only in my car.

Sorry can't help on those speaker models.

Their car speakers are pretty good though.

No problem, I heard some at a customers home a couple weeks back and really liked them and I can get a great price on them. I was just curious what others thought.

Thanks

Hi. I just bought the VR2s for my rear surrounds. They are completely awsome. I'll bet the 3s are magnificent. Great reviews on those from Amazon... Good Choice bud!

my first pair of speakers were Boston Acoustics back in 1985. They were quite good. It has been a little while since I listen to them but I have usually listened to them in the shop when I had the chance and always thought they were quite good.

I believe Paradigm also make some speakers around they same price range so if you have a chance, go listen to them as well.

Either pair, you probably would be quite happy.

I use Boston Acoustics exclusively in my cars and home (though, admittedly my current car hasn't gotten the stereo treatement yet). I like them because they seem to have a lower range than most loudspeakers of the same size. This works out great for my home theater (where I run a 5.0 setup - condo means subwoofers are frowned upon). I still get tons of bass, just not enough to piss off the 8 unit owners above, beside, and below me.

BTW, I'm running the CR series which I got for 50% off at OneCall.

Center: CRC
Fronts: CR65
Rears: CR55

Default Bad experience

Just thought you might want to know. I had a really bad expereince with boston acoustics they were of a lesser quality then yours though. I got the onkyo 705 receiver, and got the ba crc center and cr 57's. They sounded horrible loud and totally distorted the sound, so i returned them after a week. Let me know how yours work out though
