Thanks, this was my first house and theater 1.0. Can't wait until I move in 5-7 years and get to build the "dream" theater

You must be pretty handy to be able to build such an HT, eh? Either that or you just have a lot of $$$

BTW, where did you get the Monitor Audios? You'll do JasonR(one of the MODs who also has MAs) proud!

Amazing Systems.
Love Definitive Technology Speakers(Especially their Bi-Polar Line)And The JVC Projector is one of the Finest Made.

But in System Two, the Monitor Audio Speakers Say It All. Some of the Finest Sounding and Best Looking Speakers Made.

Have to Say I am Completely Impressed with Both Systems.
I would Love Having Just 1 of those Incredible Systems.

Two of them Is Sheer Pleasure. Congratulations!!!

as a young engineer its probably a little of both.

got the MA's from a local dealer. i really wanted to get martin logans, but these just matched my decor better and the field of sound limitations on the martin logans werent really conducive to my environment. also the WAF wasnt there for the logans.

im definitely in the market now for martin logan vantages or klipschorns for a 2channel music only room. i also need to get 5 good in ceilings for my bedroom

Hmmm....If any thing, MLs are very open sounding speakers....I'd say expand your horizons and choices of speakers in the 3-4k range. Where are you located at?

Great job. If I could dedicate my space, I would use the same exact color scheme. Great seating too, with all the amenities. Those speakers look gorgeous and probably sound even better, as I have never heard them in action. With such great quality pics, I would have like to see one of the entire screen in action! Job well done!!

its not that they arent open sounding as they are the most revealing speakers ive ever heard. its just that line sources are inherently limited in the vertical and horizontal dispersion categories. the listening cone is much smaller than driver based speakers and the difference between standing and sitting while listening is mindblowing. its in my living room so if were cooking or have guests over nobody would be sitting in the optimal listening position and the speakers would sound muddy. thats why i want to use a sparebedroom as just a two channel room.

i think if i were to upgrade my living room speakers it would be to the gold series monitor audios, or the def tech mythos st's

im located in dayton ohio btw

Well, most if not all directional speakers will have a different sound when the listener is off axis. That's why you should always listen in the "sweet spot".

So I guess you should strongly consider driver-based speakers based on your statement above.

Do you have an adequate amount of audio boutiques in you are so you can listen to other brands?

But you're on a great track and will probably be up there with the big ones in the years to come.

They sounded good, but not double the price better. Also I'd imagine the new silver series closes the gap even more

the platinum series on the other hand ...... Drool
