Resolution Question for ps3 - Blu-ray Forum

I have the new slim, I was trying to play NBA 2k10, it says on the case it outputs in 1080p, I started the game up and it was displaying in 720p??? How do or can I fix this?

i think everyone has this problem, including me my friend and it really annoys me

u have to go to display settings and uncheck 720p, if u have 720p games and u play lots of demos it gets really annoying

ive just gave up on it, all i care about r my blus in 1080p

Oh ic I tried that and then downloaded a demo and it was 480p, I was like WTF! then remembered...

^ If you disable 720 (on your PS3) and then play a game (or a demo) that doesn't support 1080p it'll play in 480/576p.

Yeah, this is one firmware fix I would LOVE to see on the PS3!

I say if a game supports 1080p and your tv has 1080p capability, then the game should default to 1080p! Why in the hell should we have to go in and physically uncheck 720p to get 1080p display?!?
