Magnavox doesnt not recognize some media(DVD-5 and 9) - Blu-ray Forum

I just purchased a Magnavox NB500MG1F. I tried to make backups of two of my movies to DVD5 and 9, would not recognize either, played the originals. Can anyone familiar with this product tell me if I am missing a setup or does this player not recognize these common media? T.I.A.

The player may not play DVD recordable media. Its far from defective

I didn't mean to say it was defective, the original disk's play fine, but dvd- is a pretty common media, plays on every player I have seen.

Did you read your Owner's Manual ?? It states in there which discs are playable and which are not.
