PS3 Bluray Disc Icons - Blu-ray Forum

I popped in Surf's up yesterday and noticed instead of the bluray disc icon with BDMV it was a little icon with the movie on it. I heard it's going to be on the Spider-man 3 discs as well...

I wonder if Sony is going to make this a manditory thing? If so, I wonder if they'll update the PS3 to automatically search and download new icons for older movies...

I think it's going to be that way from now on for Sony discs. I noticed that when I put Surf's Up in as well.

Anyone know if there is a list of movies that have this?

Surf's Up does
Spiderman will have it
I hear that Dracula has it as well (guess I'll find out that one fairly soon since I just ordered it)

It wouldn't be a bad idea to compile a list of all the movies that have the icons/feature.

I'm really hoping Sony does this for ALL releases backwards and forwards... i don't know if it's even worth the time for them, but hell, that would be AWESOME

It would be really nice in the event that Mandatory Managed Copy ever becomes a reality. That way when you copy the movie to your computer or media server it gets a nice icon to help you quickly identify the movie and for use on-screen displays.

i think it'd be cool for locationfree... imagining watching bluray discs on your psp

I'd rather have the 15 sec of video like with the downlaods but that's probably not possible. Full screen would be cool as hell also (with audio please)

I can confirm that Dracula has this!

I quite like this, even though it's not really a big thing, it's nice to have this!

yep i was just gonna say that Bram Stoker's Dracula has it...and I also like that icons.......better than a silly blu disc

Back on topic, what i would love for them to do is have the Blu Ray sign appear when press x from the front menu, like how the PS3 sign comes up when do it for a game.
