Default playing PSP on PS3

there's a girl where I work at that's wanting to know how here son can play the PSP games on the PS3. She's tried hooking the USB cable up to it but she doesn't see anything. Is there a certain place she has to go to on the PS3 menu?

The PSP can be used to Remote Play some PS3 games, but to the best of my knowledge there is still no way to play PSP games on the PS3.

One thing that may prove useful is the PSP Component cable, which feeds the PSP's sound and video to your TV.

What would be really cool is if while using the Component cable you could also use Dual Shock 3 (or even PS2) controllers to play the games as opposed to using the PSP.

I dont think so, I think so far only Psp minis can be played on the PS3 at the time.

Uhhh... maybe you should finally pick up Resistance: Retribution, you lazy bum! There is an option to play R:R with the PS3's controller, though it automatically increases the game's difficulty (it would be rather cheap to be able to play the game as it was created with a dual-analog set-up.)

To the OP, I believe the PSP-2000 and higher have a way of hooking the PSP up to the TV so that you can see the games on the big screen and still use the PSP as a controller. It isn't necessarily playing the games on the PS3, but you do get that added screen size bonus.

Unfortunately, I don't have actual experience doing so, as I have a day 1 PSP still. I would have loved to play R:R on the big screen and with a PS3 controller (to me, it would be awfully difficult to watch a PSP screen while holding a Six-Axis/DualShock3....)

PSOne Classics that you buy on PSN are good for both the PSP and the PS3.

(Maybe you already knew that.) I like PSOne games best on the PSP because the graphics are dated but it doesn't matter as much on a tiny screen. Still,... It's fun sometimes to play them on my PS3 too.
