Since I can't read the article here at work I am guessing your talking about Brütal Legend with Jack Black in it. I am a metal fan so I can't wait to see how this plays out, more importantly though then the source material is the guy who is making it, which is none other then Tim Schafer (Grim Fandango, The Secret of Monkey Island, Psychonauts).

Someone posted about this earlier but I can't find the OP so I figured I would make a new thread and they could be merged if a mod found it.

IGN put up the teaser trailer for Tim Schafers new game Brutal Legend. The game is about a heavy metal roadie who gets this mask made from a demon lords flesh. The mask was not meant for him, but after getting it he becomes a Demon lord and is charged with leading an army. The main character will be voiced by Jack Black. Tim Schafer is the master mind behind such games as Monkey Island, Grim Fandango, and Psychonauts.

Any game developer who is behind the brilliance that is Grim Fandango gets a blind buy from me. That game ranks in my top 10 of video games ever, period.

Loved the first two Monkey Island games (and three but he had no involvement AFAIK) but for some reason Grim Fandango did nothing for me.

I'm a huge Schafer fan. I love the art and the humor in his games. Day of the Tentacle is one of my all time favorite games. I am anticipating this game almost like no other. It's funny because I just read my Game Informer with Brutal Legend in it...I thought the cover was about Guitar Hero. Anyone else love DOTT or Maniac Mansion for that matter?

I had Maniac Mansion for Amiga from a LucasArts collection but never got very far with it. It terrified me! Day of the Tentacle I enjoyed on Mac. I also enjoyed Full Throttle on Mac.

I was never a fan of Jack Black until I saw Tenacious D and the Pick of Destiny. That movie rocked, pun intended But really, I loved that movie and while it wasn't metal like Iron Maiden or Judas Priest, I think he will work very well in this game. I'll be picking it up for sure!

Tenacious D is awesome. Check out Kyle Gass in Wild Hog's, the dude is singing Don't Cha!

Should be a really fun game. I hope they really make a killer sound track. Raining Blood better be in it!

I agree. I'll still support this day one, but it's going to be such a packed month for games including new IPs. I hope this doesn't get caught in the crossfire.
