Just got word that the original Fame, which had already been released in the UK, will be out in blu-ray here in the U.S. early next year - WHV has set a release date for 1/26/2010, the SRP is $28.99, and it will include a CD soundtrack sampler with 4 songs.

Just 4 songs? That bites!!! It should include the entire Original Motion Picture Soundtrack. I wonder if the remake will be released on the same day. Hasn't it already come and gone at the theater?

If you like 80's Fame... You'll hate the new one...

Is it even possible to remake a film and wash it down from rated R to PG...

Should've use another name. I don't see the point of using the same name while it;s completely different and having totally opposite target group

It is already available in Taiwan 998 NTD, 30 USD. Too much. Also, I find many movies I saw in the 80's aren't as good as I remembered; tastes change. Worried this is one of them. Want to see this again before I buy. Can't find it for rent.

Does anyone know if this BD comes with a Slipcover? This is the original version just released today btw.

If this movie is such a cult classic and has several fans (myself included), why do less than 200 people have it in their collections? I think more people should at least check it out.

Fame is one of the few titles I shelve with its DVD case, as that Blu-ray art is so ridiculously terrible.
