It was just released today. It might take a little bit to get moviegoer feedback.

I'm not normally a horror movie fan, but there are certain genres of horror I really like: Zombie movies and Vampire movies.... this movie really looks cool from what I've seen of the trailers. 300 was also based on a popular graphic novel, and look how awesome that was.

I'm a little wary with Josh Hartnett as the lead in 30 Days. I'll wait and see what people have to say before going to see it.

For anyone who cares, there's a Swedish movie called Frostbiten with the same vampires & a month of polar night premise. It's a little tongue in cheek about things but it's very amusing.

A lot of stuff is based on graphic novels. 300, Sin City, From Hell, V for Vendetta, League of Extraordinary Gentlemen, just 3 Alan Moores and 2 Frank Millers. It is a good medium that is easy to adapt into film because the direction is already there, it just needs to be filmed.

What's wrong with Josh Hartnett? I don't think he's a bad actor. There could be far far worse choices for male lead in a movie like this.

Agreed. I thought he was great in Lucky Number Slevin. I wonder if he'll be in Sin Sity 2? He had a small part in the first.

I'm going to watch it at 12:30. I really liked the Graphic Novel so we'll see how good this is. It's getting very bad reviews from critics, but pretty good reviews from audiences...I hope it's good.

Well I just got back...no one else has posted since earlier so there may not be much interest on the forum, but I'll give you my opinion.

It was a pretty decent movie. I liked the atmosphere of them being secluded and in the snow...it gives a feeling of hopelessness and despair. I thought the scenes between Ben Foster and Josh Hartnett were good...pretty much every scene with Foster was good. Hartnett does a good job here especially in the latter half of the movie.

I didn't quite get the time line. The movie spans the 30 days, but you feel as though it's the same night and it's not because everyday is night just because they don't seem to differentiate between days. It's not entirely a bad thing, but it feels a lot more like 1 day of night as opposed to 30.

The Vamps were annoying. I like Vampire movies so you'll run the gamut of over acting and things like this so it's not out of the ordinary. Too much of the blank stare with the mouth open, and the circular gaze...it doesn't hinder the movie at all, but I don't care for their mutations. Maybe a personal I don't know.

It's a horror film so it's dark and gory...obviously a lot of violence, but everyone should know that unlike the dummies ahead of me in line. "What? There is a bloodfest? I don't want to see this...I want a real vampire movie like Dracula." They kept repeating that like they were hoping that more people in the line would start chanting Dracula or something...anyway.

The ending was satisfactory. It doesn't leave you feeling like they tried to end it happily. I feel that the ending kind of sticks with you so it ups the level of the movie a bit.

All in all it depends on how jaded you are as a movie goer. I think it's an enjoyable movie and I think it will find an audience. I'm pretty sure it's not for everyone, but it's worth checking out.

I'll be hitting this up tonight, hopefully it doesn't suck as I'm a little reluctant to see it. At least there should be lots of gore.

admittedly he sucked horribly in pearl harbor, but he was actually pretty good in 30 days.
