Default Sony BDPS500 compared to the BDPS300

So Im falling into the BDPS500. The only thing i can really see different than the BDPS300 is that the 500 has True HD audio. Otherthan that there the same units?

What do you think?

They are very similar BUT
the S500 has Dolby True HD and DTS-HD1, and HDMI 1.3
The chassis is supposed to be a little more solid too.

So the only question is, is it worth the extra money to you.

I myself will prob get the BDP-S500 as my first stand alone BR player.
Even just sitting there it looks like a pretty sexy piece of hardware.

I'll use it this weekend & will let you know....I probably won't be too useful as far as comparisons as it's my 1st Blu-Ray player. It's connected to a Sony 52XBR5........

Does anyone know if the HDMI cable allows for the TrueHD and DTS® HD audio decoding on the Sony BDP-S500Blu-ray Disc Player? Or is another type of connector needed? Thanks, Mark

It's thru HDMI cable into a Home Theatre Receiver that decodes them http://www.docs.sony.com/release/bdps500.pdf

Default Motorized front pannel

For the people who own this unit, what is the difference between the motorized front pannel on the bdps500 and the ES model, i believe it says the ES model is glass front pannel. Is this glass on the 500 as well?

Thanks for the help
