It's a shame when a good movie is forced on someone who isn't ready for it. Probably makes them resent it.

Just an alphabetical list of my 7 choices:

Amadeus
Beauty and the Beast
Casablanca
The English Patient
Gone with the Wind
Titanic
West Side Story

And still, I have some problems with these particular polls, even though I do appreciate your effort in making them. PEARL HARBOR is listed here but FROM HERE TO ETERNITY isn't and where is Fred Astaire & Gene Kelly and did I miss something or was SLEEPLESS IN SEATTLE excluded too (one of the best romance stories staring Tom Hanks and basically a variation on AFFAIR TO REMEMBER). And I'm REALLY DISAPPOINTED that DOCTOR ZHIVAGO was excluded from this list! I also missed seeing SOUTH PACIFIC too; just MHO but it is fantastic on Blu!

It is not about not making the tourney as you say it is the fact you did not even give them consideration.

Where I can agree it can be hard to narrow the field down to miss some the biggest movies of a genre just voids the whole process to me. And this is not the first one to do it either on just this series of polls.

I voted for my wifes FAVORITE movie EVER!!! The Notebook for the "romance" part of the question followed by Titantic. Then I voted for The Phantom Of The Opera for the "Musical" part of the question. I've always felt that Phantom was the Manliest (if that's even a word) of all the musicals....it kind of has a Dracula vibe to me Lol!

I was a little disappointed in "The Illusionist" over "The Prestige" but I guess "The Illusionist" is more of a romance.

Man its cool. Its always people u cant please. This is more for fun then anything. I mean yea maybe I did miss a film or so in each genre but only 7 make it from each genre. There is no guarantee the film I missed would make it anyway. There are way more quality films to choose from I believe so I am not trippin. Cant wait for the Drama/War category. It will be the longest and I bet I still get critisized. haha! Oh well. Got Em!!

Agreed. I appreciate his effort, but there are WAY too many major (not obscure or little known) and well-known films missing from each and every poll.

I agree, but there's some films that have been excluded from each poll that I can guarantee would have a good shot at making the top 7.

The effort is def appreciated, despite the omissions.
