Default Transformers on DVD version??

im not sure if im losing my mind but i just rented transformers on DVD from blockbuster and watched it. the ending seemed to have got cut off. from what i remember in the theater when they are dropping megatron in the ocean, it shows him sinking and his eyes light up and then it fades away. but the DVD doesnt even show that.

so does anyone else remember this? or am i just losing it. it would seem odd to leave that part out since it pretty much hints at transformers 2.

I remember them dropping him in, but I don't remember his eyes lighting up, then a little later in the credits you see Starscream blast off into space also.

I've heard that before but I did not see his eyes light up and I checked in theaters after hearing that.

I smell a director's cut... wish they's stop doing that crap. Just do the director's cut to begin with.

I don't smell it yet... but I will when that Paramount contract comes to term! The announcement will be something along the lines of, "Paramount returning to Blu-ray after dismal progress with HD DVD content sales. Among the first titles on Paramounts priority list is an Ultimate Extended Director's Cut Special Edition of last years theatrical bohemoth 'Transformers'".

Did you see it in IMAX? They had some extra stuff in the IMAX release. I don't remember that scene though, and I saw it in a regular theater.

that did not happen in the theater I saw it in. I own the DVD and can honestly say that the picture is pretty good, but after being spoiled by my Blu ray uncompressed audio for the last year, the DVDs audio of this movie doesnt even come close. Was dissapointed by Transformers audio. Sounded weak.

I have seen this in 3 different configurations:
1. Regular Theater
2. IMAX
3. DVD

All three are different. None of the versions I saw showed Megatron's eyes lighting up has he is dropped in the ocean. Just Starscream blasting off into space during the final credits. A friend of my son's said where they saw it did have this additional scene with Megatron.

The final battle was different in all three. IMAX had additional footage. The DVD dropped the sequence where the army guys meet some black woman in a pawn shop.

In Norway we had the ending where he opens his eyes at the end, I'm VERY sure of that.

They didn't have room for it on hd-dvd, so they left it off the SD DVD as well,

OR

Paramount really SCREWED UP again.

Take your pick.
