Spider-Man 3 Ad - Blu-ray Forum

Was watching rush hour 2 on TBS HD and saw the new spiderman 3 ad that said only on bluray , without any mention of its dvd release, makes it sound like they're not even releasing the movie on dvd only bluray. Disney did something similar to this also with its Meet the Robinson's ad.

I think it's a good move. It stresses the exclusitivity of the release even more. Besides, I dont think anybody would honestly think that those movies wont have DVD's releases.

Earlier tonight on TV, I saw an ad for 'Meet the Robinsons' and the Blu-ray logo was quite big. Plus the Blu-ray case was in front of the DVD case.

It'll be on DVD as well. I think that's just part of the advertisement.

I think it's about to heat up for the holidays... a good sign was seeing the brand new 4-sided display section at Wal-Mart today. 3 sides were 100% Blu-ray while 1 was HD DVD but they did have SOME Blu-ray movies on that side. Two TV displays to demonstrate Blu-ray and HD DVD. The Blu-ray demo looked the best and it was Sony. Not sure about the HD DVD, could had been Sony too. I'll have to check next time I go there.

How come Spider Man 3 isn't listed on the frontpage as a New Preorder? It's coming out very soon as well...

I think that the "new preorder" section is reserved for movies that have JUST become available for preordering. Spiderman has been available for preordering for quite some time and is basically about to be released.

Which I dont think qualifies it as a "new preorder".
