Here's the official word from Microsoft on how WP7 will incorporate Xbox Live.

"Games—This hub delivers the first and only official Xbox LIVE experience on a phone, including Xbox LIVE games, Spotlight feed and the ability to see a gamer's avatar, Achievements and gamer profile. With more than 23 million active members around the world, Xbox LIVE unlocks a world of friends, games and entertainment on Xbox 360, and now also on Windows Phone 7 Series."

I have to admit I think that's kind of cool and a good direction for the expansion of Live.

I do wonder how much use it will actually get though.

Wow.

Love their plan for "3 types of games."

that idea is pretty much what everyone expected of the psp and ps3, so in reality, i think we're still dreaming in that respect. but to have high quality live games with achievements to my live account? sounds good enough to me

Ah, I don't much follow PSP news, but I do recall all the talk about the PSP being able to sync up with the PS3 as an extended controller or something.

Now I feel like I need to actually start paying for Gold..I've only played on it a few times through free trials included with games (and a roommate in college a few years ago had it so I played on his account). Guess I'll see how much they actually do with the mobile version.

Looks awesome. I think a SE phone running WM7 will be interesting, potentially PSN and XBL on the same phone!

I know SE want to get PSN on all smartphones by the end of the year so having XBL and PSN would be freaking awesome. I bet MS or SE will be killjoys and disable one or the other.

Well the iphone can already do close to PSP quality games right now, hasn't it been said that the iphone has more juice than the PSP actually? The problem, to me, is the controls.

One thing I'm VERY curious about is, which Live games will be compatible with WM7 phones, obviously we can't expect all the games on the marketplace to be playable, so which games will be? Games like peggle, zuma, etc are obvious candidates but I'm interested in seeing how MS will do this, will they add a minis section as well? Will be interesting to see for sure.

Default Windows Phone 7 will have “multiplayer, multiscreen games” Xbox Live games

http://wmpoweruser.com/?p=13631

Quote:
"We are very excited about the way in which the platform works across screens, so we have commonality of platform across the PC, the Xbox, and the web and the phone. We provide a new set of tools that makes it easy and very fast for people to develop applications for the phone but also in a way that works across screens, and we’ll announce details of that at MIX. You’re also right to point out that a marketplace is included, and the marketplace will work for applications but also for games, so the gaming marketplace for the first time will utilize Xbox Live, and that enables you to create multiplayer, multiscreen games, and the marketplace will facilitate that, so that it will actually work across screens."
microsoft sure is making it hard to keep my android phone
