Sub question - Blu-ray Forum

On the back of my sub there is a switch for receiver type and it says dolby digital or pro logic. I am running 7.1 through a harmon kardon avr 254.

Any suggestions?

What kind of a subwoofer is that? How old is it?

Set it to Dolby Digital. For the differences between the two codecs, read A Guide to Home Theater Audio Codecs.
