Is there a new firmware for the oppo? When I turn my player on is says there is but I don't see anything on oppo.com

This is the latest on their website and what I have in my unit. Haven't heard anything about something new.

probably because you don't have the latest on mentioned installed yet.

that would be my guess.

I called oppo and I was told it's because I must be missing part of the firmware. I downloaded it and don't get the notice anymore...

Call me curious...why didn't you just download the firmware from the start when it told you? Instead of going thru the hassle of checking for it on oppo's website...calling them...and on here.

Good point.
In the past, I learned the hard way that it's not always a good thing to jump on an update so I was just wondering if it was a beta or an official one.
And I needed to call oppo anyway because I had a few questions for them so I figured why not ask at the same time

i was in touch with Oppo last week.. they were working on a firmware that would allow playback of mpeg transport streams... but when i asked if it was soon being released they said it was to unstable.. and wouldnt be releasing it at all!.. shame as i want to play my mpegs on my Oppo instead of ps3
