Default image distortion question...

I've only seen this while watching 2 discs: Bridge To Terabithia and Reaper. A vertical bar near the left side of the screen appears throughout the entire film that acts like a prism - as colors pass through the bar, they smear as short horizontal lines. You don't notice it at first, but once you see it, you can't take your eyes off it. Just wondering if anyone else has experienced this?

Sounds like your TV to be honest. Do you have 1:1 pixel mapping enabled, or overscan otherwise defeated?

I've had the same problem twice. On the BD release of DEJA VU and some standard-def release I got from Netflix (don't remember title). I don't think the problem is in the disc itself - a glitch in the player? My BD player is a Sony BD300....which one are you using? I doubt that it is the TV as I've been using a 61" Samsung DLP for a year and never noticed this before.

Hmmm... Same player - Sony BDP-S300, going to a Samsung 57" LCD. Weird that it's only occured with 2 out've 20 discs. Maybe artifacts from a copy-protection encrypting?

Evidently Ich knows what he's talking about. It happened again, and sure enough, just switching the input control on my TV remote cleared the problem up. Simple fix. Thank you, Ich.
